House of Balloons After Hours Dawn FM My Dear Melancholy Star Boy Echos of Silence Thursday Beauty Behind The Madness Kiss Land
hearing word now that this has probably fallen victim to the ongoing trend of not having every track on the physical copies, as it's rumored that the CD and vinyl copies only have 11 tracks, with listings on his webstore (and even the original album cover announcement on his IG) now being labelled as "first pressing". not entirely sure how much the final product will differ from this first batch of manufactured copies, but for those of you who've preordered or were planning to pick it up tomorrow, just be warned.
That's so obnoxious, I hate that. Just.... finish the album before setting release dates, like everyone else does
Well if that's the case, maybe I should sell the Frank Miller cover variant and be able to afford a decent copy of After Hours and another copy of the new album in the future with the earnings lol
This will obviously go #1 because there is nothing else coming out to challenge it, but I do feel like there is like.... zero hype or discussion at all? Am I wrong? I mean, January has been quite a month and he of course had to cancel his big concert and move the release, so I'm not pointing blame his way, but it does feel under the radar no?
none of the singles got traction besides timeless so the talk is kinda dead Plus I don’t feel immerse in this album rollout as I did with the previous ones
there hasn't been a single dropped from this in like 3 months either. i don't think anyone even knew the release date until after São Paulo. and since then, all he's done is put up exclusive covers for pre-order, announce a companion film, play a couple shows, and move the release date. if he dropped another single, maybe that would've changed things.
even though he said 24 hours until the album release I was still convinced the album would get delayed just because nothing was hitting
at the very least, the After Hours promo cycle felt more like a traditional album rollout, which was aided by some massively-received singles. Dawn FM had hype behind it because it was a very quick drop (with a single i love but only performed decently). HUT was announced too early with songs people thought were either safe or lacking, and he's done nothing to fix that since October, so it really has fizzled out a bit. but he's also a crowd-pleaser, so he'll still find success with this album.
Yeah the last two albums had perfect rollouts but this one has had so many starts and stops I gotta feeling it’s going to underperform. But who cares about that as long as the music is good… (unless it’s not and that’s why there doesn’t seem to be any hype but I hope I’m wrong)
He’s one of my top 10 artists and I completely forgot this was coming out tonight. The singles have done nothing for me but I’m hoping to love the rest of it
welp, looks like this is the tracklist (as shown in the cover of the linked video) Wake Me Up Cry for Me I Can't Fucking Sing São Paulo Until We're Skin & Bones Baptized In Fear Open Hearts Opening Night Reflections Laughing Enjoy the Show Given Up On Me I Can't Wait to Get There Timeless Niagara Falls Take Me Back to LA Big Sleep Give Me Mercy Drive The Abyss Red Terror Without a Warning Hurry Up Tomorrow
if I had to rank them it be timeless then São Paulo and then dancing in the flame but they aren’t anywhere close to a top tier The Weeknd song
