In 2006, he and his wife Christine Fellows recorded The Old House, an album intended as a Christmas gift for friends and family. They eventually released two songs, "Taps Reversed" and "Good Salvage", for airplay on CBC Radio 3 in 2007. Saw this on John's wiki page, and I assume that album never made it online at all?
Reconstruction Site clicked with me for the first time this week. I finally get why everyone likes this band.
The song that clinched it for me was Benediction. I don’t know why but that steel guitar is masterful, plus Amy Millan from Stars sings harmonies.
John and Craig Finn have a song on this covers comp. They played this on their tour last year and it’s great.
It's wild how much the Weakerthans make me look at almost every other band and wish that they could be this good at writing lyrics/songs, even bands I love. EDIT: Woah, I'm just realizing that the version of Everything Must Go that I've been listening to forever is apparently not the real album version?
what version have you been listening to? this is what I've always heard and I'm pretty sure what's on my LP too. I'll check when I get home. means nothing but it's driving me crazy that the image for the video is Reconstruction Site
