From producer M. Night Shyamalan comes “The Watchers,” written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and based on the novel by A.M. Shine. The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. You can’t see them, but they see everything

 

i don't love her dad's flicks but her work on servant was cool

 

Just reserved the book at the library. Trailer was great!

 

Finished the book today. Makes total sense as something M. Night would be interested in producing. I'm curious if he got the rights and brought Ishana on board or if she came to it first as something she wanted to adapt and direct.

There's some stuff in the trailer that I wouldn't have revealed yet, but out of context (and depending on how much Ishana changed) it might not be that big of a deal.

 

I am particularly curious how much of the third act we see. That was the last thing I expected reading the book.

I mean I think there was “good qualities” in the sense I think Ishana had a few cool shots and I would watch another movie from her but other than that….

Yeah I mean depending on your perspective it’s either the 15th best 2024 release I’ve seen or the 6th worst

 

It's definitely far from the worst thing I've seen this year, and as stated up there I think Ishana has potential to do better in the future. But a lot of the dialogue in this made me cringe.

I’ve seen one Cronenberg between the 2 of them and it stunk
