Really thought I was ready for Eyes to the Wind. I was not. Good Lord. I love this band so freaking much.
This is my favorite live album anyone's put out since like Okonokos or something. Sound is so crisp and they did a great job with curation, all the cuts are total fire. Excited to check out the podcast too. My only complaint is that I want more than ten cuts! But that's also a testament to how good this is, and I don't think it would be as special if it was just "a" live version of each song from the last two records, instead of the absolute highlights.
This is going to sound like a backhanded compliment which I don't mean for it to, because it's a great thing... But LIVE DRUGS is an absolutely excellent "background while working during the day" album. Definitely puts me in a much better mood while I work, that's for sure.
Absolutely agreed on the crisp mix and wishing it were longer. Bummed for total inclusion of anything from Slave Ambient! Baby Missiles and Brothers would've fit on here wonderfully.
absolutely incredible performance and mixing. reminding me of when i caught them live and making me want to see them again
Just finished the podcast. Super great, the dudes always look pretty focused and locked-in on stage and in videos so to hear how funny and laid back they all are is so nice. A clip of Come to the City is in the fourth episode by the way, what a tease haha. Sounds unreal.
I slot Lost in the Dream a Spring album for me, Deeper Understanding as fall/winter, and this clip video(aside from him wearing a jacket) as dog days of Summer type vibe. Ready.
