Well the three in a row to start off S5 with the Terminus plot were all great

Does this need more soap or more opera?

Well I watched every episode from Eugene's Savior training to tonight's new episode, and I can confidently say that the storyline barely progressed. I feel that if I hadn't caught up I could fill in the blanks, and that's not good for any show on season 7.

For the first time in 7 years, I actually just fast forwarded through an episode, mostly the Sasha and Rosita scenes.

god what a truly boring episode. I was hoping rosita would at least die, but we didn't even get that.

Darryl showing up makes me think he's going to die... :(

ya know, i'm not particularly critical of TV; its easy for me to forgive pretty much anything and i leave most episodes pretty content...but i actually studied through this one

what is that, three episodes without Rick? At least something might actually happen next week.

That might have been Dwight no? That's how I interpreted it. I hope it is.

oh, yeah I didn't even think about that. You're probably right. Seems like it was probably too far for Darryl to travel in that short amount of time. Interesting, if it was Dwight, that he didn't shoot right away.

Dwight probably wants out. I wouldn't be surprised if he switches sides. He was supposed to change Daryl but Daryl changed him.

This seems most likely. And now that his (ex?) wife is out of be picture and Negan can't harm her, he doesn't really have to worry about her in that regard anymore.

The acting in last night's episode was startlingly bad at times; a stark contrast to last week. I kind of hope they kill off Sasha at this point. Sonequa Martin-Green's delivery has been awful this season, especially in her scenes with Jesus.

Anyone notice the green screen tractor behind Enid when they went into that cellar?

This was probably the worst episode of TWD that I can remember. With how predictable the show has been, who on earth would possibly think that they'd kill Negan (or even wound him) in such a lackluster way? But besides, if Rosita and Sasha weren't busy chatting it up, away from the window, they probably could have gotten a better shot when Negan first walked out. I thought it was strange that they were there to kill him, yet spent most of the time not observing anything.

So the zombies went full on Viserys with the zombies? I'm referring to the molten metal poured onto their heads. Please explain how a blunt object can penetrate a zombies skull yet molten anything wont just immediately disintegrate their heads? It was hilarious to see, however.

Maggie still looks not pregnant in the least, especially when the ultrasound seemingly showed a recognizable fetus.

Did anyone think that Sasha was going to kill Rosita at the fence line?

Lastly, no one in their right mind thought that was Daryl at the end, right?

    EDIT: Oh, is Heath dead?

I really hate that AOW isn't going to happen until Season 8.

The entire season will revolve around it, and I bet the comic time jump will come between 8-9. I'm ok with that, but end the show at season 10.

There's no way they could drag AOW for the entirety of Season 8. It will be 8A with the time-jump being in Mid-Season premiere.

I've pretty much lost all hope in this show. I will continue to watch because I'm seven years in now, but I'm past the point of expecting to be blown away or truly impressed with anything that happens. Even if there is a great episode, I have been conditioned to believe that 2-3 poor episodes will follow. It's so shameful how they drag out each episode and storylines.

Like, we all know what's coming, we don't need 2 months of episodes dragging it out.

They've dragged out the PREP for the war for this entire half-season. I'll never say "they can't drag this out for very long" again when talking about this show.

I think in the comics, they were at the farm for like a couple of days or something like that?

The ratings have also dropped 2-3 million than the Season 6 average and AMC knows it's due to the criticism of the slow pacing Season 7 has had. I won't even be surprised if they fire the current show runner and bring in someone new for Season 8 and pick up the pace. I don't see how they could possibly turn a 4 episode arc (All Out War) into 16 episodes after seeing the ratings drop by dragging out the march to war arc.

The problem is that the dramatic aspect of the show doesn't feel very dramatic. The moments that are supposed to be dramatic come off whiny or argumentative...or the rationalization of what life now is, etc.

The struggle for survival (from the zombies and lack or resources) is completely gone. Everyone is has just settled, for whatever goddamn reason. You'd think that there should still be some longing for something better. Early settlers in the US traversed the landscape, Rick and company are just hanging out under the tyrannical reign of some jolly asshole.

It's not like she's going to feel guilty for this. Look at how guilty she's been since Eugene got taken! She was only left behind so Dwight could get back to Alexandria without getting shot by a guard.

Eugene refusing rescue was the best part about that ep (and no I'm not forgetting Maggie and Daryl finally talking about Glenn's death).

Maybe they can make this a turning point for Rosita and she'll turn into a bad ass leader/killing machine...but they'll probably just have her bitch about not getting to kill Negan until she dies

That entire intro showing the characters have a seemingly normal existence was so bad, including the little moment between Daryl and Maggie. I just don't fall for it anymore. The show hits all of the familiar beats without introducing anything new.
