The second half feels more promising. Just please no more filler bottle episodes. That Carl/Enid and Tara episode back to back killed the first half. I keep forgetting where the hell they leave off with characters. I enjoyed tonight's episode though. Was Negan's best episode easily aside from his intro.
That Claire Huxtable glare Rick gave Carl when Negan said he hid in the supply truck was the highlight of the season so far
7 minutes in and I'm honestly laughing at how ridiculous the biscuit request is as a lead-in to the credits.
Oceanside. They should have a chance with all four groups. Especially considering they now know where Negan sleeps.
I would assume that is what the entire second half will be about (and I don't read the comics but someone said Negan is eventually captured and imprisoned, so I'm betting he'll be captured in the finale and then Season 8, he will be in the cell/escapes...) I'm pretty interested though who is following the group...
Negan is the man. I was hoping he'd kill spencer after that cowardly sneaking around behind ricks back. if you really think about it, everyone he's killed/had killed was justified. Other than him forcing people to give him supplies, hes actually been 100% fair. His people on the other hand are douches.
I've kind of been saying this all along, which increases my frustration with Rick's character outline this season. He's all of a sudden scared to death of someone else? Why because TWO of his friends died? It doesn't fit his character arc throughout this series. Rick and his crew are beyond lucky that Negan hasn't killed ALL of his people considering the things Rick and company have done to him. They killed everyone (brutally) in one of his outposts, shot a fire launcher (or whatever it was) at one of his cars loaded with people, and then Carl killed two of his men with blatant intentions of killing Negan and in return Negan has only killed 4 of his people, and one of them (Glen) was only killed because Daryl got up and tried to fight someone and the other was killed because someone point blank tried to kill Negan. I find the whole entire Negan plotline somewhat laughable to be honest.
Well... it wasn't really because 2 of his friends died. He was still "that Rick" after. It wasn't until Negan had him by the balls with Carl that he really broke/accepted his fate. I can jive with your thought process but it seems perfectly acceptable/logical to me for Rick to feel completely hopeless over the first half of this season. Lost 3 of his most important fighters, no Carol, no weapons, outnumbered, no recourse. And god damn this show. It's a popular opinion, but the majority of this season was a bore. I didn't even like last weeks episode, which most appeared to like. I had it my head that I was going to give it the mid-season finale/premier before dipping out for good, but I really enjoyed last night's episode.
I just can't quit the show...I feel too invested this far in, no matter how bad it gets. Like if Brand New's new record was opera, I'd still feel compelled to give it a spin...
I was watching Toy Story 3 yesterday and is it just me or do Negan and the Saviors remind anyone else of this group:
The first half of Season 7 was like a 5/10 for me. Negan was okay but they need to learn that somethings about him don't translate well on screen. Negan is better when he is threatening and not just making jokes.
I was hoping once Negan found out his goons beat the shit out of Aaron for no reason, he would teach them a lesson.
I guess my whole point is, they've been building up Negan's character for a few seasons now and we finally get a dose of him, and he's not intimidating to the point where he couldn't have already been taken out about a dozen different times now. As you mentioned, for the most part, he's actually been rather fair to Rick and the group. Had we been watching this show from Negan's POV the entire series, we'd probably think Rick was a far more terrible person. It's just hard for me to believe how 'untouchable' Negan is by even his own group (Let's face it, Dwight and many others from the Saviors would love for Negan to be dead), let alone other groups.
Negan is Hopper from A Bug's Life because he forces the ants to supply them and threatens to kill them if they don't
