This episode was alot better than the last fews weeks, I accredit a portion of that to the fact we visited a bunch of different groups throughout instead of focusing on one person.
Yesterday was a very good episode overall in their series I thought. Not just for this season. We complain a lot about the slow ones but I think they are necessary long term. Plus this episode was extended and next week is extended so really these last two episodes are like 3.
This season will definitely seem better if I watch all of the episodes back-to-back instead of weekly.
I don't even look forward to it really now. I'm certain that at some point I'm going to just start binge watching each half season the days of the finales.
What bugs me about JDM playing Negan is the annoying pelvic thrusts he does with almost every line he delivers. It's gross.
My friends and I have a running joke that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has a PA crab walking underneath him at all times in case he dips too far backward and falls over. "Okay everyone, Mr. Dean Morgan has fallen over again. Let's reset. Back to 1."
I'm seeing and hearing stuff like this a lot. Idk why he leans like that, it's kind of weird and takes away from his performance.
I think his performance is fine - his delivery etc all contributes to making him unbearably arrogant/cocky, which exactly the right thing to do for the character. Also, Carl's line about Negan jumping out the window to save him the trouble of killing him was kinda badass! I wish he'd shot more people at the start though...
I love Negan, it's everyone's reaction to him I find dumb. No idea why people don't shoot him when they have the chance.
Daryl has had like 10 lines in the last 3 seasons. And when he talks now, he sounds like Christian Bale in Batman.
Probably because everyone in Alexandria would get slaughtered if anyone kills Negan. He has a whole lot of psychos working for him, especially Trevor from GTA. They would have to kill a whole lot of Saviors if they killed Negan and they would lose. It's not like them killing Negan would have all of the Saviors give in to Rick.
No but I feel like they'd be in a lot better position if they shot Negan when he showed up instead of giving him all of their guns and without a leader the saviours would probably crumble as a group. There would be a number of people trying to take over and a number that would just leave because theyre only there out of fear. I feel the same about some of the saviours, most of them don't seem to really like Negan and most of them have a chance to kill him. He just feels protected by plot armour to me.
I don't think the Saviors would crumble. Negan has already mentioned Simon (Trevor GTA) is his right hand man and he evens leads groups of Saviors (Ep. 5 at the Hilltop). That guy seems even more frightening than Negan imo. If anything, Negan's "rules" are probably the only thing keeping the Saviors from acting like a wild animals. I don't know if they'll keep this in the show but Negan has to kill one of the Saviors because the person attempted to rape Holly. Negan is a giant douche but it seems like one of those positions where killing him could make things alot worse.
Negan also refers to Dwight as his right hand man, and I think Dwight would love for Negan to be dead because A) he already tried to escape Negan once B) he slept with and took his wife and C) burned his face off. I think way more Saviors would be happier if Negan were dead than those who are happy to keep him alive.
He refers to Dwight as his lieutenant and I've never seen him lead other groups of Saviors. If way more Saviors wanted Negan dead then he would already be dead, unless like I stated before, they know that if they kill him then someone worse than Negan would take his place.
Pretty sure in the episode with Daryl, he specifically referred to Dwight as his 'right hand man' as he was telling Daryl about his past with Dwight. Yes, I'm sure a few of the Saviors like Negan, but honestly, other than Simon, I'm not really seeing it.
I was referring to a group of Saviors going into another colony, which I would assume someone with a higher position would do. Leading dozens of Saviors to the Hilltop is different than leading Saviors on a supply run. I also never said Dwight doesn't have status. I'm saying Simon would probably take over the Saviors before Dwight would.
The Saviors who's wives chose Negan over them definitely hate him, but the others I don't see why they would. Negan is a giant dick but he keeps them safe and provides a leads them to the point that enables them to basically get free stuff from communities. Also the fact that every Savior calls themselves 'Negan' suggests that they either a) fear him or b) respect him, most likely c) both. To sum it up: I don't see why the majority of the Saviors would want him dead when he protects them and makes other communities bow down to them. Especially since there seem to be hundreds of Saviors and they could easily kill him at any chance.
