I just don't understand why this show has such problems juggling its various characters and settings on a weekly basis. I think the whole "focus entirely on one group/location per week" format is horrible for the type of story they're now telling (whereas, say, in the back half of season 4 it actually made sense because everyone was isolated and converging on one location, so the isolated storytelling worked thematically) and kills all hopes of narrative momentum. Game of Thrones has way more characters and locations and still manages to generally pull off checking in with mostly everyone every week. I just wish this show's writers would take a page out of their book and try it that way.
Like someone else said earlier, I doubt I'll even watch tonight. I'll probably just wait and watch it next weekend before the new episode. I think I'd rather watch the new Westworld tonight.
I remember the first season I was so hyped. I never read the comic so I had no idea what was coming and I love scary movies so I was excited by the idea of one being stretched out into a TV show and to see what would happen. lil did I know that the same exact formula would happen every season and it'd be one of the more boring shows I watch. but I still watch so I guess I'm the sucker lol
I didn't even make it a point to quit watching, but I've missed most of the last couple and didn't bother trying to find them later. I even really like Negan, but this shows formula has just gotten too repetitive for me to stay excited, I guess.
I gave up after the first episode this season. might catch up later but im not in any hurry to based off of the fans and tv critics reactions to the season so far. I do think the comics have been really good the past few months though.
I'm thinking it could be better to binge watch anyway. I always forget who/where characters even are when I don't see them for weeks at a time.
I'll watch tonight cause I like heath. I always end up liking some rando side character that gets killed and then forgotten RIP Milton!!
This show cycles through its black male characters pretty quick. We haven't had one die in a while so maybe Heath gets the axe tonight. But then again I don't think it would have any emotional weight so maybe not.
Heath had a lot of potential and there was once a time where I hoped him and Michonne were gonna be a thing. But good ole Rick had to mess that one up too.
Sorry not hating this as much as everyone else is. Tara's sarcasm is giving me a chuckle and I'm always interested in New colonies of people and how they're living.
The episode is not bad per se, but I'm just getting impatient with the main story, wanting it to pick up steam
Zoned out for so much of that episode. Not sure if it's the shows fault that everything about that episode was awkward, or if Tara is just the most awkward character ever.
Tonight was laughably bad. Just what we needed! To meet another group and more characters! And seriously, how funny is it that the group tried to shoot Tara dead countless times with no questions asked yet they get an opportunity to kill her at end and they just talk until she's saved out of the blue? Such laughable and lazy writing. So bad.
