Have to say, when I thought it was just Abraham I was pissed. Gotta give it to them, they pulled off that fake-out rather well. Glad they didn't cop out and actually went through with it.
Except I have known for months. Granted not everyone reads spoilers, and that's fine. But this would have been far more effective as a finale. That way all the actors would have been on break and harder to figure out who got the bat. No one would have expected a fake out then.
thats almost as long as Neegan has been talking. literally 30 minutes and there have been like 2 lines of dialogue not by him.
And everyone who read the comics has known for four years. Of course this all should've been in the finale, nobody is disputing how shitty they were about it. It's still a cliffhanger if someone major dies and then it cuts to black, why they felt they had to scum us for six months I'll never know. The writers and showrunners just all have tremendous contempt for their audience, for some reason. All I was saying is that they didn't totally fail after putting themselves in quite a hole.
Failed big time to me. Killed off a character only to cheapen any significance it could have had by immediately killing someone else. Now they are just focusing on Rick. Pretty messy in my book.
Damn I was boycotting the premiere and was just gonna watch the second airing but it's not until 1135 because there's somehow a market for 90 minutes of talking dead??
The "significance" of killing Abraham? Haha Anyway, it was as much of a success as it could have been after that total cop-out of a finale.
I agree with your quotations. His death had no significance. Which is kind of a problem. Someone who has been on a show for a few seasons should probably have significance when they get killed. What's the point of it then?
No, not because the death had no significance because it was handled poorly, it had no significance because we never really loved Abraham the way we love Glenn (or Michonne, or Daryl, etc.). He was never as strong of a character.
