Spoiler time. glenn and Abraham[\spoiler] have only been seen filming episode 1 of the new season. They're already done with the first half.
It was a nice gesture from AMC but I didn't like the uncensored as much as the edited version. The f-bombs worked on a couple occasions but sometimes it just came off as forced and lowered the tension in some pieces of dialog. My favorite line was when Negan said he was going to beat the holy Hell out of one of them in the edited version. In this one he says I'm going to beat the holy fuck-fucking-fuckity-fuck and it just comes off a little comedic instead of scary and sinister.
In the comics, while Negan is dangerous and a crazy asshole, he is also funny about it in a sick way. Him saying fuckity-fuck fuck I think is actually from the comic. He constantly is cracking jokes even to people he wants to kill. So it isn't that weird to me.
Yeah, I think almost 80% of this dialogue from straight from the comics. I just don't think it translates as well in real life as it does on paper. Maybe it's just the way JDM said it. I do like the f-bombs when he speaks about his people being killed and about knocking down the door. Other than that, I prefer the edited version.
Well it also seems out of place because nobody else in the show swears. It fits in the comics because it's not the first time you see it.
It was pretty unnecessary. The tension in the aired version was great, I didn't miss the swears at all. I mean I doubt that he's gonna film alternate swearing scenes for the whole rest of his run? Unless they just silently censor it for air from here on out? Otherwise I guess it's cool but if those are the only f-bombs it just kind of sticks out like a sore thumb.
I think Gimple said they will be shooting scenes with and without curse words for Season 7 also. Most likely only certain scenes or else that would take a lot of time.
That's so weird to me. Like a silent censor really doesn't bother me for air. I guess they just hate bleeping things lol.
lol so Greg Nicotero did an interview with Entertainment Weekly and basically let slip that, yes, in reference to those spoilers we've all known about for a while now there is in fact more than one death: "I’d say in retrospect, I don’t think we would have changed anything. I would have still supported doing it the way that we did it, because of the fact that the story doesn’t end there. If we would have shown the deaths, then they wouldn’t have felt our characters in season 7 the way they need to."
