I’m just kinda tired of Maggie being mad at Negan. It was dealt with and they learned to move past it at the end of TWD. The writers do what they do best and just forget any character development in exchange of rehashing old drama.

Narratively, it’s just beating a dead horse and Dead City will be much better if they move on to a new inner conflict.

3 eps in on Dead City and I’m struggling to hold the enthusiasm.

 

This looks decent? Sizeable budget too. Norman Reedus riding TWD gravy train as long as they keep paying him, and I'm totally cool with that

 

So we fell behind because of vacations and stuff and watched 2 and 3 last night and I’m into it tbh. It basically feels like a story that would have been stretched out over an entire half a season in small parts and instead they gave it more detail and there’s nothing else going on.

the gore has been somewhat surprising tbh. Feels like a notch above TWD. The cheese grater omgggg

 

I’m now finished, the story seems to be heading with a little bit more direction now but it’s noticeably more sparse than TWD.

The ending and potential for a massive reversal with one of the characters has me semi-intrigued.

Overall, I’d say 5/10 as it’s a bit too much of the same. I have no idea how they plan to keep people invested with Daryl and Rick/Michonne spin-offs also to come.

 

Why tf can I not watch the Dead City season finale onDemand for free? We’ve watched every other episode we’ve missed onDemand on FiOS for free, but for some reason the finale isn’t. What gives? Do we need to wait a little longer for it to be free?

The teaser for the Rick and Michonne show was shown at NYCC

 

Hopefully it gets put online. That's one I'm hyped for.

 

Where in the TWD timeline does that new Rick show take place? Or does it not take place in that universe at all?

 

After Michonne leaves the group, so sometime after the Whisperers.

 

But didn't Rick die in the original series? Or maybe I'm not remembering correctly

 

Doing a 2 second Google search, I now see that Rick didn't die in the original series, lol

 

Rick died in the comics but was given a fake out in season 9.

He probably would have stayed on and eventually had his comic death if Carl wasn’t prematurely killed.

 

I hope I don’t miss anything by not watching more than 2 episodes of World Beyond. I’ll prob just find a recap to read. I still plan on watching Dead City and Dixon though. I doubt I’ll start and finish before this airs. Very Stoked for this.

Yeah usually when I watch these shows I'm on my phone or doing something else at the same time but I was captivated for the whole time. Great start.

 

I only watched TWD, do I need to watch the spin offs or no?

Also, years ago, wasn't it originally supposed to be 3 films? And then it was later changed to a limited series?

(I stopped paying attention to this stuff a LONG time ago)

 

Tuned in for the season opener, seems like a step up in quality from the other spin offs.

Looking forward to seeing what happens from here, didn’t expect a reunion so quickly
