It was an okay finale. Glad to see Rick at the end.

I shed a tear for sure. Even if it hasn’t been the best quality of late, show has been part of my life so such a long time.

I’ll take this ending. They were def going for the emotional angle and it was good.

I’m satisfied with where all of the survivors ended up.

This episode felt like it was actually written by someone who likes the show. Many callbacks to previous seasons.

Ugh we’re 7 episodes behind so gotta catch up. But that graph is depressing, if only because seasons 9-11 have been better than what preceded it haha

Checks out that season 5 episode 1 is the highest, those first three episodes that year were definitely the peak

    Hmmm…what do I consider peak.

Im probably leaning season 4? They fucked up by not resolving the Governor story line at the end of 3 despite playing it up like it was gonna be the conclusion. So taking the first half of season 4 and giving it a great ending was good. Then you had the back half where they were all split into different groups and converging on Terminus, with a lottttt of good story telling and moments in those episodes.

Still shoulda let Rick saying “fucking with” to end it haha

I think about that Rick quote a lot, haha. That was lamest quote to end a season with. Even more so now considering they seem to be saying 'fuck' more often in the show.

Personally I think this show started to decline in Season 5. Especially considering they made Terminus to be this huge thing the entire Season 4 and then it was pretty much all wrapped up by the end of the first episode of Season 5. And then everyone waited years for Negan to appear, and while JDM did a pretty good job portraying Negan - the storyline clearly didn't live up to the expectations and dragged on way longer than necessary.

I think the finale was meh. I know I keep harping on it, but the fact that they revealed all the spin-offs prior to this series ending really made everything less dramatic/intense than it could have been. Also, a lot of the finale felt really rushed. It's like they waited all of season 11 to cram everything into the final episode.

It's almost hard to remember at this point but I was definitely more invested in this show than anything else up til the Negan cliffhanger debacle. The whole Negan intro was the most nervous I ever was watching anything. Literally couldn't stop pacing and watching out the side of my eyes lol

I think it was the third episode that they wrapped Terminus by and it was great in my opinion because they actually shockingly wrapped it up so abruptly. Gareth was a great villain though and more of him wouldn't have been a negative for sure

I wasn’t expecting such an emotion based finale, took me by surprise a little and I think they did a really good job - all things considered.

The Rosita and Eugene scenes were mostly awesome, the guy that plays Eugene did a brilliant job.

Maggie and Negan’s big scene was great and I like that they didn’t end with Negan completely redeeming himself.

A few things were rushed (Aaron/Jerry/Elijah) and some big questions remain about Oceanside/Rick/Michonne but it still felt like a worthy finale.

It feels pretty surreal to see the show through 11 seasons and particularly when there were some truly horrible ones in there. I would say 9-11 were a bit of a return to form on the whole and I didn’t feel as guilty to be watching it still.

Fuck it I guess I’m gonna go back to where I left off. Whatever season was that Sasha died. I remember not watching the finale of that season and never coming back

Wait was that her name? Am I thinking of someone else? The actress that left to go do Star Trek I think it was

Her name was Sasha, yes. She died in the finale of season 7.

Thanks for making it easy for me to find where I left off! I remember not watching the finale and just reading what happened and I never tuned back in

Just read season 8 and continue watching with season 9. Season 8 is worse than season 7.

Are the spin-offs mini-series? Or are they going to be multiple seasons?

I thought I heard Rick/Michonne was just a 6-episode mini-series, which would be much easier to stomach than signing up for something that is going to go on mindlessly for 7 years.

I thought they both left the show to focus on other projects and spend more time with their family, so a mini series would make sense.

But what about the other ones (Negan/Maggie and Daryl)

I told myself I wasn't going to watch any of these, but if they are all short-mini-series then I probably will. But if they are gonna go on for years, no way.

Not sure. I could see the Maggie/Negan one being pretty short. But Daryl’s I could see going on for a while. I think Reedus was born to play that character and would do it as long as they let him.

I am a completist but...not sure I can do all these other shows. On that note, is Fear Of The WAlking Dead worth checking out or will that be another slog?

I got through a season and a half of FTWD years and years and years ago and couldn't take it. I can't believe it's on it's 8th season.

FTWD being on 8 seasons is far wilder than this lasting 11 lol
