Chandler posted about TWD on his instagram and said that he'll have more to say in a few weeks. I think he might be appearing in either a flashback in season 11 or the Rick show.

To not end this series with a bang after 11 years would be super disappointing. Like, they can't just have a moderate ending and then expect fans to continue on with the story to find out what happens with the 12 different spinoffs they're planning.

It'd be a real slap in the face to fans who (stubbornly) stuck this out for a decade plus.

I've been watching since day 1, and will absolutely finish. My excitement for the show has dropped significantly, but at this point I have to see it through.

Gonna end it with a cliffhanger on whether or not Daryl dies

That has been my stance for a while as well, but the fact that they changed the Final scene of the series makes me think (as the writer points out in the link above) nothing that 'final' or serious will occur and fans will be left to determine what happens with all the major characters/storyline across all the spin-offs planned, which would be super maddening.

Finale is gonna be Rick waking up from his coma.

Gonna wake up as Shane is trying to get him out of the hospital, and boom the TWD multiverse is born.

Finally watched the new episode last night, and honestly was soooo lost. I barely remember anything from the prior 16 episodes this season. It's all just became one big blur.

Last few episodes have been good. Now sure how the last 3 episodes will play out but it’s looking like it will be different from the comic.

I’m still hanging in there as well.

The Commonwealth storyline has dragged on way too long and I don’t know how it gets wrapped up with 2 episodes left?

I have a feeling Negan will sacrifice himself for them to get out of the camp, which will be bs.

We know Daryl and Carol will be fine due to the show that was announced (although Melissa dropped out due to the location).

Negan and Maggie have a spin off as well.

The spin-offs have completely soured me from even wanting to watch these final 7 episodes. Like, I know nothing is going to happen to them, or even have closure, so what the fuck is the point?

The original spin-off (Rick) was announced in 2018 and was meant to be a movie, or three movies. I think the belief or the idea at the time was to air them simultaneously while TWD was still airing and it would all lead back into the ending of TWD series.

Obviously, that never happened and now here we are with all these additional stupid and ridiculously unneeded and unwanted spin-offs to the point where the ending of the main show is useless.

Yeah, why even end the main series if you’re going to still have all of the big actors in contracts to continue the franchise? Seems like a weird choice.

Daryl should take Rick’s death from the comic and the series should end with Judith as a teenager or young adult. Give it a definite ending.

I am finally caught up on this (at least the normal AMC schedule) and while it's not awful - and it's still entertaining - it feels just like any other normal season. There is nothing that screams 'this is the end' at all this season. Clearly, with all the spin-offs, they will not be wrapping up any storylines among our main characters and that is super disappointing. Like, the build up of the series finale of an 11-season show should be enormous and this just feels like any other season of the series where the group just rallies together to get rid of one more big bad.

This is a good write-up and similar to how I feel.

Walking Dead Recap, Season 11 Episode 22: Faith

Also, not mentioned in here, but almost as laughable is that we are on like episode 175 and all of a sudden we're just learning that some zombies have super powers where they can climb, open doors and grab knives? WAT???

Season 1 had walkers that could pick up objects, climb stuff, and open doors. Apparently it was part of Frank Darabont’s vision, and once he was gone, the walkers were retooled to be what has been the norm throughout the rest of the show.

When I frequented The Walking Dead subreddit for a few years, a recurring type of post was something along the lines of, “What happened to the smart walkers from season 1? Why does the show pretend like they never happened?”

Now it seems that they’re being reintroduced to both satisfy those fan questions and set up variants of walkers as “new” threats for the upcoming spin-offs.

I don’t hate it. The way the show addressed it could have been dumber.

I watched season 1 12 years ago, haha. I have no recollection of that. I don't doubt it though, although I would say that the more and more the seasons have gone on, the walkers became more watered down, slower, less of a threat and more of an inconvenience. So for them to all of a sudden turn into something more after years and years and years of the same just felt like an odd choice, especially considering the series ends in two weeks.

Latest episode got a 9.2 on IMDB....worth watching? I've been watching Man of Recaps for like the last few seasons haha but wanted to watch the final couple episodes if they were solid enough.
