Love it. It's what it should be now. It's a large expansive world, so exploring different stories within that world will be great. I've also liked what they've done in the last couple seasons of both shows tbh. Still haven't watched the World Beyond one though
I thought that was announced like 2 years ago lol along with the carol daryl spin off. Gotta say, I do have some interest in the anthology, but 0 interest in carol/Daryl, world beyond, or anything else the decide to cook up
World Beyond S2’s first couple episodes were petty dull, but the most recent three have been surprisingly great imo. Definitely feels like they’re working towards the end of a series, which I hadn’t felt watching the first part of TWD S11. I am looking forward to a Daryl & Carol spin-off, but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to know about it and not think both characters aren’t invincible for the remainder of TWD. Fear S7 is not good so far but it does feel like they’ve completely stopped trying to pretend the show is better than it is, which has helped.
Haven't watched since Carl's death. Quickest way to catch up? Has there been any great episodes since that moment?
Yeah, been quite a few. Problem is there's a lot of filler in between. You missed everything with Alpha's group and the horde right?
Should I just go by IMDB ratings of each episode and watch anything over an 8 or higher basically? I’ll read about the other episodes in between.
Just watched the Negan backstory episode. Wow that was incredible. But the inconsistency of this show is mindblowing.
We’re behind on all 3 shows at the moment. But I’ve loved Fear up until this point so surprised to hear bad things about 7.
Yeah the last few seasons of Fear were really good but the start of this one has been pretty tough for me.
Season 2 of World Beyond has remained very solid. Would definitely recommend anyone who gave up after S1 to give it a shot. I legit feel dumber after each new episode of Fear S7. Just irredeemably bad television with zero logic to it. The entire cast deserves better, but I’m especially annoyed by how Colman Domingo has been written for this season. Strand was such a complex character pre-S4 and now that the current showrunners are giving him the spotlight the actor deserves, he’s fully a cartoon.
Wife and I started our quest to catch up last night, got through 3 more episodes of TWD S11. So we're up to Episode 6 next. Liking it so far but it both feels like the speed has picked up AND doesn't feel like they have time to wrap up all the storylines in just these 24 episodes without getting realllllllly stupid. Especially want to know how they'll get Michonne and Rick back into this, as I assumed Rick was where Eugene and Co are at right now and apparently, he's not. I think we're a whole season behind on Fear now, and still haven't watched World Beyond.
I don't know/think Rick and Micchone will be brought back into the show – if memory serves correctly, the plan was to have Michonne show up in the 3 Rick films that AMC *swears* are still happening. I think that's the whole reason they wrote Michonne out of the show – not to mention, some of the characters on the show are clearly taking over for other characters from the comic. For example, Yumiko's arc in the Commonwealth feels a lot like Michonne's in the comic. Sidenote: if you haven't yet (and are interested) pick up the comic. I started reading the comic about 3 years ago and binged the whole thing, the pace is much better, overall it's so much darker – certain characters (like Rick and Carl) are so much better in the comic. Of course as soon as I caught up with the comic they ended it a week later. FTWD has gone an interesting route this season, it almost feels like an entirely new show given the current cast, and we know some crazy stuff is coming so definitely catch up soon! WDWB isn't bad, and you can quickly catch up because there's only 2 seasons in its entirety
