There's a lot of worse characters who need to take Tom's 'you know what, you aren't doing jackshit with my character, write me out' stance
Well in the comic, it plays out in the long run. There's a reason why the person who let him out does. Negan and the kid go out to find the Whispers, a bunch of shit happens, it's a long (good) story. With him just walking out, there's no reason for him to find the Whispers or do what he did in the comic. So it'll be interesting to see how that plays out.
I like the Whisperers so far. They seem frightening which is something this show unfortunately lacks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm intrigued by The Whisperers storyline, I just don't think what they're doing makes any sense.
I knew that ending was coming but it was still so badass. Loved how creepy the episode was as they figured out it wasn't a normal herd and that reveal at the end is one of the best Walking Desd moments. I convinced my sister who stopped watching years ago just to rewatch the last 10 minutes with me so I could see her jaw drop at that scene. Haha, worth it.
So amped to watch this ep tonight! Trailer for the 2nd half looks good too - all those graves at Hilltop though
We really seem to be running out of main characters here quickly though so I wonder if they change it up a bit.
A thing happened before that with someone not locking the door properly and the door opening. Negan stays in the cell with the door open until Rick goes back to see him and he says that he could have destroyed Alexandria without anyone noticing, but stayed to show his goodwill.
Saw the ep on catch-up tonight, very enjoyable. The build-up following Aaron, Jesus & Daryl was cool (I love mystery/suspense like that when characters are discovering things aren't quite right), and even though I knew what went down at the end I still went "woah!" when it happened. Was great that it happened so quick too, and it wasn't drawn out like other big deaths have been. Ahhh, and there's still so much cool shit to come in February!
I actually thought Negan was going to go back in the cell and shut the door to stay in prison while I was watching because I didn't think it'd be as ridiculous as him just literally walking out.
As someone who has basically despised this show for the last 2 or 3 years, I'd say this most recent half season has been the best work they've done in years. Take that for what it's worth, but it wasn't as much as a chore to get through as recent years.
There was one dud episode, the rest are great and there is an all-time classic TWD moment in the mid-season finale - definitely worth checking out!
Spoilers are already out there about the season finale. Season 9 will indeed end with the heads on spikes as expected.
