No, but they've been advertising next week as his last, so we knew he wouldn't. It was a Glenn in the dumpster alley cliff hanger.
(Not speaking for everyone or encouraging spoilers but...) I think most people in this thread specifically kind of gave up on caring about this show's week-to-week progress. So I doubt it matters too much. haha.
i like coming in here monday mornings to read reactions from an episode i didnt watch more than i like tuning in anymore to this show please pile on the spoilers (but tag appropriately if needed). ill watch this shit on netflix eventually.
Same boat. Curious what happens even though I haven’t watched this show in years. Pop in to see what dumb shit they pull
Well, there's two hordes that heard gunshots at their camp, so Rick is trying to lead them away. Rick gets to an intersection where he appears to be surrounded. The horse neighs real load, gets up on its hind legs, Rick falls off and is impaled on a random piece of rebar sticking out of the ground. So he's impaled, bleeding out, and zombies are swarming him.
It sucks that it's the main day one character and I feel nothing about it. This show crapped away such a good thing.
There is no way we see him get torn apart by zombies. He’s going to escape and die peacefully while reflecting on his friends and family.
You see him crossing the bridge, I assume that's real and not a hallucination. I'd think they'd make him get to camp and die in front of everyone, so then everyone will stop trying to kill each other. Progress the story that way?
Kind of what happens when you don't have an apparent direction with the story. The show just wanders aimlessly until each character dies off or the actors get tired of it.
Some people have said Daryl is at fault for Rick’s situation but I don’t think he is. As soon as they got out of the hole, Rick decided to go on his quest while knowing the risks.
Maybe it was hard for them to keep under wraps (although, contractually it shouldn't have been) but why in the world (other than a ratings grab) did they market for months that Rick was in his final season? It would have been pretty bad ass if they just killed off their main character out of the blue in the 4th or 5th episode of a season. I would have had a lot more respect for them if they did that versus how they've handled Rick's final episodes.
The only reason I would watch this season (haven't started it yet) is to see how they wrap up Rick and now I am seeing that it's being done like shit.
That's exactly why they handled it the way they did, in my opinion. Their ratings are decreasing significantly, so it's a 'hey, come back and see how Rick's story ends' but it's a slap in the face to everyone who continues to (insufferably) watch this show every week. For the first time in years, they could have actually had real certified suspense in this show and a truly jaw-dropping moment of surprise with the demise of Rick, and they completely blew it with this bullshit farewell tour they've been marketing (and it still hasn't helped with their ratings.)
Yeah, I insufferably watched from day one up until the end of last season and just couldn't do it anymore. Now I have no reason to watch this season so I guess I am done?
As soon as Rick's gone this has to fall off a cliff viewers wise right? And isn't Maggie done after like half the season?
Do be honest I’m probably more excited to watch after he’s gone just to see what direction they take it in. That and the Whisperers are super intriguing to me. And I love Ryan Hurst.
