Starting to suspect TWD is using ‘Rick’s final 8 episodes’ as a ploy to get viewers back. Probably going to be a lot of people tune in who jumped off the ship years ago just to see Rick’s fate. But with this whacky ass franchise they’ll ‘fool’ everyone and just end up keeping Rick around anyway.
I just finished season 8 and...wow, so much better than season 7. I still love the show. I think people gotta remember it’s based on a comic book. There are going to be moments like “how were they able to ____?” But it came from a comic, a medium where a guy called wolverine has claws that can come out of his hand.
My issue with this show has never been unrealistic moments or happenings, it’s the terrible writing and lethargic character development that stretches something that should get resolved in 1 maybe 2 episodes an entire season just because they don’t have enough material to work with. This show has been bad for years, but i think each season has a few redeemable episodes. I am looking forward to seeing how Rick goes out.
10 or so episodes would help a ton. Also, and I’m not breaking any new ground here, but it badly needs an endgame. I think the best scenario would be to end the main show and then if they want to keep the name going, I always thought an anthology series could be cool
Yeah, I don't think that is anyone's issue with the show at all. I mean, we're talking about a show based off zombies in the first place, so of course a huge suspension of belief is needed from the beginning. As others have pointed out, the show seems to be going absolutely nowhere - and has been that way for years. Way too many characters that people don't care about are not only being introduced, but being heavily focused on, taking away focus from the main group/characters and the original story and plot that we followed for 6-7 years. A lack of end game is severely hurting this show and comments from producers like 'this can go on for 20 seasons' or whatever does not help at all. I still watch because I've invested 8 years of my life into it, but it's honestly become a chore to watch and the batshit crazy thing about it all is, every now and then they still have some serious magic intertwined in the seasons which makes it all the more frustrating.
I would actually reinvest time into this show if they announced an ending in 2020 and started writing towards the endgame now.
But just continuously watching a show that is seemingly going absolutely nowhere (literally) is so hard for me to do.
since I no longer care about spoilers for this show I read Spoiling Dead this morning, the website/account that has correctly predicted/leaked all the shows major plot developments. I can spoiler tag if people want to know.
Oh, has it? Good to know. So then, new question Do we think Rick gets killed by zombies, Saviors, or a new threat?
