Lol sweet Jesus. Regardless of how you may feel about Rick, Carl and Maggie, those are substantial losses. They might as well end this and treat the show going forward (because you know they’re milking it till there’s nothing left) as a soft reboot with a new cast. Make it Saved By The Bell: The New Class where old members of the original cast like Screech are still hanging around for some reason.

They’re obviously going to have to implode the Rick/Michonne relationship. Sucks for her.

Forbes said Reedus will get 20 million to be the lead. That's mind boggling. He realizes he's gonna have to actually talk above a mumble now right?

 

Rick and Maggie will both shoot each other at the exact same time.

 

Lol I'm just picturing them killing each other in a fight as awkward as that one Carl had with that surly kid

 

Having Carl take Rick's place would've made sense, but no, they killed him and now they're stuck with no good option.

 

Right? They could have easily gotten that to work and tried a ton of reasonable ideas with Carl, but nope. All three main characters are gone.

 

I would had liked to see Carl try to lead the group after Rick leaves, but AMC had other plans

 

Next time on AMC's The Walking Daryl...

It was not his decision to leave the show. They just decided to kill Carl for whatever reason.

 

Oh, damn. I could’ve sworn I remembered reading that he wanted to focus on other things and was leaving by his own choice.

 

No, I'm pretty sure it was because he was turning 18 so pay and legal things and whatever comes with being an adult actor vs child actor came into play. Again, this is just something I read, from TWD reddit, not sure how much truth is to it.

 

I remember reading about his Dad being pissed off they were killing him off. “Hey you’re taking away my free paycheck!”

 

Gimple said he killed off Carl so Rick would have a reason to spare Negan’s life.

I'm pretty sure they said he had also recently bought a house fairly close to the filming location, so that also kind of supported the idea that he thought he would have a lot of time left on the show.

 

Yeah they definitely had no idea it was coming. Right after it happened, Chandler Riggs’ father posted this on Facebook (page disappeared shortly after).

 

Yeah it doesn’t make any sense. They could have came up with numerous other reasons to make Rick want to spare Negan.

 

They could have had a serious father/son moment, while he was alive, and said dad, you need to spare him. Hell, lets just say he was alive, and he was on the farm land and when Rick slit Negan's throat, Carl could have ran up and saved Negan right away, or even pointed a gun on his dad saying he needs to save him. Lots of intense moments could have happened if they kept him alive.

 

Nah, makes a WHOLE lot more sense for Rick to have an epiphany after losing someone to a walker bite....something he hasn't already experienced 400 times now.
