I’m saying technically no one should be dying of a walker bite just because it was a zombie, unless they like eat your jugular or something. For example Carl should not be mortally wounded just because he got bitten, unless there’s some writers reason people still die from zombie bites.
I thought the zombie bite was supposed to cause infection and u die from the infection and then come back a zombie.
Spoilers for Episode Nine: Carl: Dad, I'm dying from this stupid walker bite Rick: Wait, I remember at the end of Season 1, the CDC scientist told me to show tic-tacs to heal any bites Carl: Dad, NEGAN HAS MY TIC-TACS Rick: Why, that little sonuva... *NEGAN JUMPS INTO SEWER...YES THE SEWER* Negan: Well, well, well, someone NEED A TIC-TAC? (he says while leaning back) *Rick - as well as every other person in the sewer has ample time to shoot/kill Negan, who is unarmed with just a baseball bat - but nothing happens* Rick: Negan, give me those tic-tacs. stop screwing around! 14-minute Commercial break.
The bites majorly accelerate the infection don't they? The fact "everyone is infected" (like the guy in season 1 said) but no-one dies from that level of infection means that bites accelerate it to a lethal level. Bites = certain death.
Yeah, I thought that was a given haha. That's why they've amputated limbs before and people have committed suicide at times when amputation wasn't possible. Shows how long it's been since this show has actually been about something other than battling for stupid territory.
Hope not but probably. Just started liking him again. Also, I haven’t asked this, but is anyone else completely unphased by Carl dying?
I don't really care that Carl is dying. At this point I wouldn't care if Negan, Rick, or Michonne died. The writing has just made the characters dull.
The last emotional attachment I had was when Beth died. I would have had an emotional impact when Glenn died, but 1) I knew it was coming and 2) the cliffhanger kind of ruined the moment. It was like getting a hot burrito but before you're about to eat it you have to wait in a very long line to wash your hands. When you finally get to eat your burrito it's cold and you're just eating it because you already purchased it.
Cliffhanger killed all my investment in this show. During that whole speech I was pacing and like side-eyeing the tv cause I was like scared to watch. The tension was so great and that just killed everything for me. Now I skip weeks, zone out, just never felt the same.
I won't get my hopes up until I see that Season 9. The way I understand it, Angela Kang is basically Scott Gimple's protege and he's still involved with the show, so I don't think we will see the change we want to see.
I had my foot out the door even before that. I've mentioned it plenty of times here, but that season was full of boring episodes with exciting cliffhanger-type endings. Every time they would follow up with another boring episode that didn't address the previous cliffhanger but ended with yet another one. It was a very obvious and cheap maneuver to make sure you tuned back in the next week, so when they ended the whole season that way, all I could do was laugh.
