Everything's feeling like a retread, and with the amount of time we spend with certain characters I don't feel connected or engaged in their journey in the way I'm supposed to. I keep with this show because I know it can be good, but its just diminishing returns at this point

 

Every season a new character becomes the moral compass and we go thru the same arguments and questions posed about morality and humans being the worse threat. And now the moral compass is literally named Jesus like I cannot lol.

 

I haven’t seen a minute of this show this season but I still enjoy keeping up with it via this thread

 

I stopped watching 4 seasons ago but the comic went through the same problems.

 

The entire Jesus/Morgan storyline is beyond laughable. I've never been more checked out during a Walking Dead episode as I was yesterday.

 

I'm pretty sure I'm done with this show.

 

The sad attempts art artsy intros / outros are the worst part

 

I was busy and missed it Sunday but doesn't sound like I missed much lol

 

So now is the time that Rick starts feeling remorse for the people he's killed?

 

The whole Morales thing was dumb as hell.

 

This whole war is very anti-climatic as well, in the 3 episodes we've seen the crew just plow like 4-5 outposts without the saviors putting up much of a fight at all. Not to mention they could have easily killed negan no issue like 7 times in the premiere. The whole morgan/jesus drama felt so forced/awkward. Why is gregory still alive?

 

I haven't seen this week's episode yet. I'm guessing Morales is already dead from the sound of this thread?

No. Why would they keep a character alive for this long (since S1), only to introduce him to Rick, and then kill him off the very next episode?

 

Guys just stop watching your life will improve dramatically.

I think? I'm pretty sure they're assumed to be all dead.

 

His family died not long after he left the group in season one, then The Saviours picked him up. From what I could gather anyway.

 

Man, so like, Morales is the epitome of shoehorning in this show.

 

I believe this was directly word for word what happened in the scene:

"It's me, Morales" - Morales
"Who?" - Rick
"Morales? Remember, I was in season 1, for like 12 minutes" - Morales
"Hmm, honestly man, not trying to be rude, but I just don't remember" - Rick
"Really?" - Morales
"Hold on, *pulls up iPhone X (pretty sure this was an advertising spot for Apple)* yeah, man, I just had to Google you. I still don't remember you' - Rick
"Bummer, I...(bam)" - Morales is dead.

 

Wait, what?

 

Rick did recognize him he said "I know you, you were in Atlanta"

 

Fans of the show have been talking about Morales for years. I doubt they ever planned to bring him back as anything other than just as a nod to the people who kept mentioning him.

 

I recognized Morales but never would've remembered his name on my own. Does he really have a fanbase lol
