those are absolute eyesores lmao. ILAD in particular going from argably one of the most iconic artworks in the scene to that visual equivalent of word salad is rough rough stuff
See, I think the S/T is pretty iconic at this point. Lies is definitely the weirdest/weakest of the three, but even then it represented something unique and bold.
I wish either of the first two albums were an option. Would love those on vinyl but those covers are just such a non starter
Not even surprised how ugly this is - look at the shit cover art for their last two records lol This band is a joke these days and super try hard with their efforts to come off as edgy. I just laughed looking at the last record “MEDZ” tracklist. “People are Vomit” “Pain is My Therapy” lol jfc
I mean, they've always kind of had that in them. "Found a box full of sharp objects, what a beautiful thing."
Sure but that’s less terrible and also more of the times when they were in their early 20s. Bert is 42 lol
I've loved most of their artwork and edginess personally. Toxic Positivity has a sick cover, loved the album art for Heartwork recently, too. Which, on that note, Heartwork deserves more love. Easily their best effort in years and a possible top 3 for me.
I trace it truly back to "Liar Liar (Burn In Hell)" Liar, liar, pants on fire Liar, liar, stop your soul from catching Fire, fire, God and maker Liar, liar, pants on fire I also have a theory Branden was the only one truly holding them back from total cringe.
I was on my mormon mission when Liars was released. During those two years you’re not allowed to listen to any music (or have a way to stay updated on news). A friend who’d keep me updated wrote me a letter saying “dude, the used released the worst song I’ve ever heard” and shared those lyrics. still have never forgotten that. And he printed out all the lyrics to devil and god for me so I could pretend I could listen to it. That was fun.
