Yeah, it is. It's kinda weird how much he sounds like Bert actually. Part of it might be the production of the vocals too, I suspect. It's an interesting song either way, and totally something that's growing on me after a few listens. I get a kind of The Used meets Acceptance vibe.
Yeah, it has been nearly 10 years since he left the band. I wonder why the long wait to release solo work? I do remember hearing he wanted to start another band though with ex members so maybe that took time and never really got off the ground.
0 backers on the cassette lol. I wish people would stop fucking putting cassettes out! Really cool campaign though, and I'm excited to read his book. I really enjoyed "I Digress" too, so this is pretty cool, particularly as my interest in The Used these days is near 0.
Cassettes are gimmicky. They have none of the benefits that CDs or Vinyl have other than the nostalgia.
The solo album is kinda fun honestly, especially if you mentally separate it from The Used, there's some catchy stuff.
Soz to be a gossip diva, but I noticed on Bert’s insta post about the new album this comment from Branden. Last I’d heard they weren’t on good terms due to the ILAD anniversary, so this is interesting! As a Used fan it’s cool to see, but the peace might be short lived depending on Quinn’s book!
This will either make you feel really old or young, but I found this picture I took of my desktop when The Used were really breaking and AOL was covering them in 2002. Also makes it weirder to think that was taken 22 years ago. 22 years previous to 2002 was 1980. Oh my. My millennial brain cannot compute.
