I've not heard it since it came out but I remember liking Over and Over Again but nothing else. Very interested to try it again though.
The production on that one really suits the material, I think. They certainly could not have made that album with John Feldmann.
to be fair, they had a different guitarist on that album that didn't appear on any other ones, so that's why its a standout. too bad the production isn't better on it :( the instrumental isn't even that bad, it's just bert sounds so rough.
What I remember about The Canyon is that song, Bert saying it had his MJ influences on, and the fact it was the Justin record before things went to shit. But I know 0 other songs from it. What's good on it?
I love most of the songs on The Canyon but it's borderline unlistenable to me. Sounds like a bootleg cassette.
Selfies in Aleppo is a jam, legit sounds like a lost Circa Survive song. Broken Windows is catchy as hell like OAOA. Upper Falls is straight up the most emotional thing in their discog, that song devastates me whenever I l listen to it
The Canyon's production somehow makes their take on prog rock seem extremely boring, which is wild and a shame because Ross has some good ass albums he's produced in the past. The songs themselves are interesting in concept.
Omg finally, The Used will be playing the Super Bowl Half-Time Show. About time I'd say, acts like The Weeknd and Rihanna have been keeping the stage warm for them but now it's time for the big boys to come out.
If this is to build hype for something like an upcoming tour or release they just need to get to the point already.
