All the songs after the terrible Wow I Hate This Song, I'm pretty all in on the rest of the album. Cathedral Bells didn't do much for me first listen on YouTube but I loved it in the car. Ton of electronic production and it works

I really like a Paradise Lost

  3. Paradise Lost is great and a great opener. Don’t get the hate for the first half of the album.

Paradise Lost is a classic Used song, I love it and it's the perfect opener.

FYI there's a thread specifically for the album

  6. On a big The Used kick since Heartwork is so good. Relistening to Imaginary Enemy and it’s got some good songs, but is pretty forgettable imo

I wonder if there's an album's worth of good material that you could put together from Vulnerable and Imaginary Enemy

Vulnerable is underrated imo. There's only one bad song on it. Imaginary Enemy is a truly mixed bag but there are enough high points for me.

Yeah you could make a solid album with most of Vulnerable and Cry from IE.

  10. Was also listening to Vulnerable and it’s super good. Hands and Faces has always been a standout for me.

I dunno, Vulernable always feels like one long song to me, not a ton going on that has ever stood out to me

I mean, I guess folks have kinda migrated to the Heartwork thread and while that's also my topic of late, I'm still getting older songs coming into mind when it's quiet, like Razor blades, All that I've got, ...forget if there was another.

I mean, Vertigo was often stuck before even listening to Heartwork, so that probably too. :)

Any of you The Used fans here also on Twitter and want to follow each other? My link is in my profile. I could always use more Used fans! ;)

  14. Still listening to Heartwork a couple times a week. A few years ago, I would have considered The Used my favorite band. Still, it's funny how, after The Canyon released, I forgot about The Used. Heartwork has really gotten me to dive back into all of The Used's previous work and has really rejuvenated my love for the band. I forgot how much I love their past albums, including some of their forgotten records like Vulnerable. Now, I feel pretty confident saying that The Used is my favorite band after going back through their catalog again. I still haven't fully listened to The Canyon, but I listened to it a few days ago, and I like it more than I remember when it first came out. A little bit of a ramble, but man, I love this band.

I don't think they ever stopped putting out good records. I just think the first two records were so beloved they wouldn't have been able to do anything that would have pleased their entire base moving forward.

Vulnerable is so good! I think it's my third favorite after the first two albums. This new one is really starting to click finally too, it took a while but I'm really getting into it finally.

Imaginary Enemy has been on full tilt lately, this album is way better then I remember.

Yeah I just listened to it last night. Definitely relevant atm. Definitely underrated. The title track is so dang good, that bass line is so sweet.

  19. I finally sat down and gave The Canyon a listen for the first time. I like it a lot more than I remember! Songs like "Cold War Telescreen" and "Broken Windows" get stuck in my head constantly. Not too sure why I wrote this album off so easily, it's really growing on me.

Listening to Vulnerable now for the first time in a while, and man there's some really good songs on here. B-sides are great too!

Just finished listening through these guys' discography for the first time after going my whole life only knowing their big songs. No idea why the hell I waited so long, I really liked all of it, even the ones fans don't seem to like much. On first listen of each my favorites were In Love and Death and Lies for the Liars and my least were Vulnerable and The Canyon (though I can already tell the latter is more of a grower, it's totally different from the rest). Now I'm looking forward to seeing them live whenever the hell I can do that lol

The Canyon is brought down by terrible production imo.

  25. It’s been said in the Heartwork thread, but I really wish they could find a middle ground between Feldman production and The Canyon. I love Heartwork but there’s times the album just sounds weird and overproduced. Something more like Artwork would be great.
