It certainly wasn't universally panned. I understand the production/recording criticism (although I like how it sounds), but I love all of those songs and it really resonated with me.
that's one of the most obvious slanted wikipedia articles i've ever read lmao. reads like the band's pr person wrote it
This reminds me of the last couple 311 albums in that it has classic sounding stuff, some pop songs, some experimental stuff, and some heavy stuff.
Yeah, that's the damage control of it these days. How many days can they be "leak-free"? I'm gonna give it a listen later.
Someone should email the band some more ideas for album titles. Dartwork Fartwork Partwork? Smartwork Chartwork What else
posted this in the album thread too: Damn, this is definitely their best album in a long time. They really swing for the fences which I really appreciate. Some of the execution isn't exactly perfect, but they really do some new things on this album. It doesn't blow me away, but I am honestly impressed
Same! It was the first album by them that I've liked since Lies for the Liars. The new songs actually haven't resonated with me nearly as much, unfortunately.
Damn, Im enjoying this! Listened 4 times through already. A couple deep dive listens and a couple background music listens. The experimental tracks work well for them.
Haven't listened to any leaked tracks but Lighthouse is def my favorite by far. Bloody Nose and Cathedral Bells didn't do a lot for me
Liking most of the rest of the album so far though. Feldman pretty much at his weirdest production-wise but I think I like most of the choices, rather than the messes that were something like Lies For The Liars or D.R.U.G.S.
Oof. Album sucked miserably flipping through it in my truck today. Will give it a proper listen on good headphones tonight, but first impression was a bad one. :(
