Haha YES. I saw this and was like, what? Especially because Bands In Town had sent an e-mail with the subject line about celebrating 15 years. Just sums The Used up these days, I think.
I went to Disrupt, and The Used used to be one of my favourite bands, so I'm coming from a place of actually "liking" the band. Certainly they are not the same band now. Bert spends whole shows pretty much being a douche between songs, whilst they have a gun for hire guitarist, and all the while Bert can't perform a bunch of the vocals (albeit that isn't a new thing). They've done more in the past few years to damage their legacy. The fact they have such a bad relationship with the two former original members, as well as the last guitarist, says a lot, I think. One of few bands that I wish would call it a day.
Let's all just face it - The Used is hands down the greatest rock n' roll band since The Rolling Stones AT LEAST. We can talk about our opinions on them all day long but we can't ignore the OBJECTIVE TRUTH.
That would be pretty crazy to get the original members together again. I can’t imagine Bert and Jeph working with Branden and Quinn again though, especially on a new album. But if they ever did, I’d be very curious to hear it. So... I hope it happens!
Get out of your gummy bear house and listen to the most important rock band in history IMMEDIATELY DAMMIT
I have some questions... First question/s- why are there no songs uploaded from The Canyon (other than the official videos) on YouTube? I mean, none! Absolutely none! It's just a little surprising to me since most (or all) bands I listen to release their new material there. Plus, the other Used albums are all posted. Is The Canyon even on Spotify? For me, I just feel a little sad I can't share my favorite songs with others and others with me. I feel the love for the band increases by that communication. That's just my two cents.
Ok, second question... Why are there no Used forums or major Facebook groups or basically any community pages online? I would have thought that there'd be more of a representation. Hmm... well, I'm glad for this thread!
Awww! Well at least there's a Reddit page. Thanks! I probably never would have found it as I don't usually Google search more than the first two or three pages and even if I did, it might not even be in that basic search.
