This sounds like fun! Top three for each album: The Used: Noise and Kisses, Blue and Yellow, Pieces Mended (this album is the hardest to rank) In Love and Death: Sound Effects and Overdramatics, Listening, All That I’ve Got Lies for the Liars: Paralyzed, Hospital, Earthquake Artwork: Empty With You, Meant to Die, Watered Down Vulnerable: Hands and Faces, Hurt No One, Shine Imaginary Enemy: Cry, Imaginary Enemy, A Song to Stifle Imperial Progression The Canyon: I haven’t listened to this album cause the first few songs were ROUGH The Used were once my favorite band but I’ve definitely drifted away from listening to them. I think I should do a deep dive into their music again and see how much holds up. I never gave The Canyon much of a chance, but the first few tracks just sounded horrible to me. Also, The Ocean of the Sky is a great EP.
Top 3's is more interesting than a top 10 or whatever, I'll bite S/T: Buried Myself Alive, Poetic Tragedy, Blue and Yellow ILAD: I Caught Fire, Listening, Sound Effects and Overdramatics LFTL: Hospital, The Ripper, The Bird and The Worm SHALLOW BELIEVER: Choke Me, Into My Web, My Pesticide ARTWORK: Meant To Die, Born To Quit, Men Are All The Same VULNERABLE: Hurt No One, Moving On, Give Me Love IMAGINARY ENEMY: Cry, Make Believe, Imaginary Enemy CANYON: Over and Over Again, The Nexus, Vertigo Cave
I feel like anyone who likes Ocean of the Sky would be into The Canyon. Honestly probably their two most sonically similar releases imo.
Lies for the Liars - Vulnerable is my favorite The Used era. Glad to see some deep cuts from those albums getting this much love.
After Warped Tour, I wanna get more into these guys. I loved the first two albums but didn’t like LFTL and stopped listening Also, “I’m a fake” is such an awesome track and I’m bummed I never got to see it live. The screaming in that song and “Sound effects and overdramatics” is unreal
Yeah, I’ve always loved that each album by The Used has a very different sound, but I’m excited to see them revisit their first few albums but add a new twist.
"Back to basics" doesn't really work when half the lineup that wrote those songs aren't there anymore and the singer has a different vocal style now. Everything that made the band interesting and unique in the beginning isn't there anymore. So I would take "back to basics" with a very large grain of salt. Even though they're working with Feldmann again, it's still going to be totally different.
Well at least Feldmann won't record it to a cassette on a boombox. That's literally how the Canyon sounds to me. Which sucks cause I really like most of it
I miss the vibes of it all, but if he kept living like that we might not have him around anymore. Glad he's better now!
