Dropping in to say I actually really enjoyed their Warped Tour set. It was my first time seeing them since 2004. All older songs, but they sounded good. Still breaks my heart that Burt doesn't scream anymore though. Listening was the shit!
I thought he did really well. I was skeptical to hear how his jazzmaster would fit The Used's sound, but I thought it added something new to their sound and I liked that. His backing vox were decent too.
I also just came across this article and holy shit. Report: The Used File Restraining Order Against Former Guitarist
Too bad they still haven't figured out they should get someone to scream instead of Jeph. I mean especially on Warped it'd be so easy to grab someone at least decent to guest every night
So are these guys good live or not? I'm probably seeing them at a festival at the end of August and I'm wondering if I should prioritise them.
usually the bass player screams (and it's horrible) but apparently the new guitar player has been screaming so maybe that's better.
Do they still have the former guitarist of Saosin or was he the one who they got a restraining order on?
In my defence, it's hard to keep with mid 2000's bands and the sheer volume of members they go through. Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Panic! at the Disco, Senses Fail, etc
Unfortunately the BBC only broadcast the main, NME and Introducing stages, and the other four aren't shown to allow you to be closer to the stage and have less obstructions. They do film it still for the screens though so if something pops up I will definitely post it. I did write about it in my review in the CMCS thread though.
