Wut if Phil becomes the singer for the project that Quinn and Brendan are doing. And then Justin maybe joins.

Strange to me that they were ready to edit Justin out of their photos and remove him from their band members section but are still not ready to post a statement.

I don't think they're good at handling inner band conflict, especially after listening to the podcast with Branden and Quinn last year. And I mean they only made one social media post about Quinn's departure without even telling him beforehand, so who knows how they dealt with Justin. I hope the departure was on good terms but somehow I doubt that.
I almost wonder if it really caused Justin to rethink some priorities. Maybe he feels like he can't tour right now and that the Used was too big of a project for the time being. I know I am the kind of person to want complete privacy until I've fully come to terms with something like a death.
He probably listened to The Canyon for the first time and realised how shit it was, so up and gapped it.
