BTW, did you listen to the live acoustic album already? It came out today.

 

Forgot about that live album. Listening now. Pretty excited!

 

Honestly super interested in what new music is going to sound w/ Justin in the band. I saw them at Taste of Chaos last year and was actually blown away at how great of a show it was

 

This new live CD is actually kind of re-sparking my interest in them. Of course, it's mostly their old songs but he sounds real good.

 

I wish I still liked these guys. I remember going to see them at local shows in Provo, Utah. I just couldn't get in to anything after In Live and Death. And their live act sounds pretty rough with Jeph screaming.... I dunno I always listen to their newest efforts in hopes of liking it though

 

Last 2 albums have been so so but Artwork is a solid album imo.

 

I would even say it's their third best behind the first 2 records.

 

I'll give it another spin and see if it sinks in this time!

Love the first two albums and some of the 3rd.

Is Artwork worth revisiting? It used to get a bit of praise on AP.

Tbh talking about it here has made me realize I need to go back and revisit it myself and see if I still remember it as fondly but yeah he does on some songs but not very much.

 

Artwork is pretty under rated imo

Vulnerable may be my personal fave but I think Lies For The Liars is their best when it comes to songwriting and production etc.

Cool to hear that. I also think it's a good record (despite not being among my favorites by them). Which songs do you like in it?

 

It's a very special record to me, it has a positive message that I needed to hear at the time.

My favorites are Hands and Faces, Shine, I Come Alive and Together Burning Bright probably.

 

Agree with all the Artwork love, I've been behind that album since it dropped!

I'm listening to Live & Acoustic At The Palace right now, it's fine enough, but I think acoustic albums should probably not be live, there's a lot of crowd in this one

 

Re-listening to Artwork almost done and yes I def still stand behind my statement.

Sidenote: Berth is great and I normally don't like live CD's but I don't mind that one. I remember winning a contest on a site called EmotionalPunk I think it was back in the day and I won a copy of Berth and Lies for the liars but I never got them so lame.
