I actually think Over and Over Again is my least favorite on the album, haha. It does break up the darkness a bit though, which is nice.
no idea where this came from but ok? doesnt seem like youre being a dick to me! just find it odd that now, all of a sudden, this is an issue and passive aggressive comments have to be made about it over a FUCKING NEW USED ALBUM of all things. its totally possible to have several different conversations or "tones" in a thread without it getting all weird and hostile. its not even like im mad or upset or anything, its just funny that this is the thread where this is an issue when this kind of stuff happens in so many other threads and no one bats an eye.
I'll probably cut this down to one disc honestly. I've only ever done that with California deluxe before, this is kind of long. I would drop For You (respect the sentiment but just not crazy about it) and Pretty Picture sounds TERRIBLE with the production. Like I have to skip it

You're right it isn't that deep, I was even saying in my OP that it isn't THAT big of a deal just something I wanted to mention. Don't think it's that hard to understand the concept of a feedback loop/echo chamber effect though, like when the majority of posts are basically mocking the concept of liking the album, people might be discouraged from expressing that because they might be made fun of themselves as @slimfenix182 said. I do get it though because I make fun of music that's more "acceptable" to shit on a lot, so eh... Carry on.
Yeah I can *kind of* see that maybe they wanted it to be in a spot where like @clockwise said it would provide a lighter moment amidst the second half of the album but... it kind of feels out of nowhere tbh
I'd be interested in seeing your condensed tracklist whenever you put it together I sort of feel the same way, yeah. I think it's the outlier of the album, actually. Totally different lyrically, tonally, etc.
At what point do the discs split? I am so used to digital by now. I could probably cut this to 10-12 songs. The political songs feel out of place. I think he really should have focused more on the concept of his friend and the canyon.

I 100% think if this album had a totally different production job, the execution of the concept would be appreciated a lot more, because I think they did a pretty good job already with it and a lot of this felt quite "theatrical" to me, but more in a proggy post-hardcore sense than in a similarity to anything MCR would do.

Anyway I'm just gonna drop my issue with the thread since I didn't mean for it to turn into this big thing, my OP probably made it seem like it was bothering me more than it was I just made it long so I could state my point fully. I recognize the need for differing views, etc. etc.
Jeph has some great bass playing on this album. And at least that's the least buried aspect of the instruments haha
