TMZ is reporting that The Used have been granted a restraining order against former guitarist Justin Shekoski: The Used were granted the protection … which requires Shekoski to stay 100 yards away from all members of the group, and any place they work. Felt my heart sink while reading this. Pretty scary. I hope Justin is able to get some help or something if he needs it. I've always thought he was one of the most talented guitarists in this scene.
I really hope people are reaching out to him for some serious help. I don't know the situation, but irregardless of his gross threats, if he's threatening to take his own life, it shouldn't be brushed off lightly.
For a genre that was defined so much by hair style, going BALD is brutal on bands. I mean...imagine the likes of Coheed and Cambria, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance WITHOUT the hair.
This is the strangest thing to read. On one hand, I could see the dynamic in The Used being the source of the problem here. But then again, I was really caught off guard when Justin was kicked out of Saosin. That's two bands in as many years. I just don't know what to make of it? It just all seems really weird. I feel like now I'm just waiting for an announcement that Phil Sneed is taking his place.
Just realized Justin updated his BIO on his official web-site... "In 2017, The Used record “The Canyon” with Ross Robinson at Studio 606 and Valentine Records in Los Angeles. After a business dispute, Justin was terminated from the band. Shekoski is currently working on new music."
