Good sound, but hate the lyrics, the title...could have worked 20 years ago but this shit doesn't really age well.
Bert McCracken is 37 years old with a daughter going into kindergarten. These lyrics are fucking terrible.
That outro at the end is pretty cool and Jason is a welcome addition, but I don't think Bert's voice really does it for me anymore. Also, that title. oof. That sort of thing isn't edgy anymore, it's just comes off as juvenile.
This guys are still making music like they were twenty years ago, nothing’s evolved sound wise or lyric wise, this is just old, played out, and juvenile. I absolutely love their debut album, but they never really kept my interest after that.
Didn't they have to get a restraining order from him because he was making threats and stuff? Sorry if I'm off base that's just what I thought happened.
Not familiar with this at all, I just googled it, and it says The Used dropped him after being successfully granted a restraining order against him. He had threatened both the band and himself. What was his side of the story?
If I remember correctly, he said they stole his work and didn't give him credit. I think his only record with them was The Canyon, but not sure if he's credited on any of it. He threatened to hang himself on stage to get their attention. He was booted from Saosin as well for similar cryptic "creative differences".
Jesus Fucking Christ this is like some cringe emo time-capsule you buried in your backyard back in 2007 and just dug up, only to feel so ashamed of the gross, black-white-red-pink checkered, self-harm-appropriating contents within.
i think i like the outro stuff. sounds about on par with used after 2007. Passable, fine, but for some reason not amazing.
Should’ve called it Blow Me Away and no one would’ve cared about the title. Not sure what they were thinking.
