The whole band is good, it’s amazing how fleshed of a discography they have

I, like, am at a loss for words that Devil In Jersey City could actually win this matchup. Legitimately speechless. What the actual hell. Single nostalgia, man. Goddamn.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Neverender is so good and top 3 on the album ugh

It's a top 10 Coheed song overall, probably even top five.

Very surprised Devil in Jersey City is still in the running. It's such a simple song compared to Neverender.

Well this is one time I agree with ya haha. I never thought Devil was that strong of a song.

Welcome Home still jams super hard though and will get all the vote

Welcome Home does jam super hard. But that doesn't even make it the best song on its own album, let alone the best Coheed song ever (Neverender, for one example, is a way better song). I know it's unfortunately going to dominate that album and will probably wind up winning the whole bracket, though, but I'd love to wrong about that.

I place it on one of the best of that album, but the final cut is great too so we'll just see how that plays out.

I'd vote almost any No World for Tomorrow over Welcome Home though.

I love Welcome Home, adore it. But there’s songs on even the newest album I’ll vote for over it if there’s a tie

Let's be real, no way Welcome Home will tie with anything from the new album :-)

Yeah there's definitely a few songs on Unheavenly Creatures that beat out Welcome Home for me as well. Dark Sentencer and The Pavilion just to name two off the top of my head.

There's a huge difference between a song that receives a full music video with tons of radio/MTV play and something that was just quietly put out at the end of an album cycle (i.e. the literal same year the band's next album dropped) to coincide with the release of a live album/DVD. But, of course, you knew that.

Damn, Devil in Jersey City vs. Neverender is toughhhh. Devil in Jersey City is the first Coheed song I ever heard, and is the song that got me into emo/indie rock and everything I listen to now.

Setting aside my bias, Neverender is a gut-wrencher and objectively the better song, IMO.

To me it doesn’t matter if a song is a single or not. If I like it im gonna vote for it

There's nothing wrong with liking singles, it's just pretty clear that the only reason Devil is in the running against something like Neverender is because it was a lot of people's first exposure to this band as a result of it being a single and thus has a ton of nostalgia wrapped around it. The same goes for beloved/popular singles from any band; they get tied to the era in which their respective albums came out and become almost emblematic of that time period in a positive way. Think about the first time you heard Ocean Avenue. Or Basket Case. Or Dammit. It's a natural feeling to have. That's all.

It's just unfortunate in this context because it can lead to songs that are clearly better getting beaten out. It's happened in like every bracket I've participated in on here.

Also Time Consumer I love you and I'mma let you have this one, but God Send Conspirator is too much of a jam for me to vote against.
