Oh I totally misread that! Sorry, I thought you had said you ONLY heard the first and Black Rainbow.

I am almost in the same boat as you. I've listened to everything since, but the stretch of those 3 are what I'm most familiar with and are so great.

 

SSTB is incredible, and that's not nostalgia talking. It's an absolutely insane debut for a band.

 

I revisited the entire discog back when Vaxis came out. I'm ready.

I wonder if the thread will agree or go up in flames with this:
The single off Black Rainbow, Juggernaut, is absolutely the best song off that album and set an high expectation on an album that didn't really deliver.

 

The Broken was the first song released and I think it's even better than Juggernaut. I think that's why I was so initially disappointed when the album came out.

 

Oh I didn't know that, I only heard Juggernaut before hand on the radio and music video. I do like Broken though too.

 

Makes me feel old for asking, but was Broken released on Myspace or something before hand? lol

 

In the Flame of Error is the best song on that album IMO

COHEED AND CAMBRIA BRACKET

For those who are new to the concept, these are randomly generated brackets (no seeding!) where we go from album to album and put the songs from an album against each other. We vote on each matchups until we have a winner for each albums. Those songs will then face off in a Champions bracket to decide the best overall Coheed and Cambria song! 3. Feel free to discuss why you chose one song over the other and why you like that song. It's what keeps these fun!

4. I avoid byes into rounds if I can, but sometimes it's necessary. These are randomly generated; I do not pick them.

5. Once your votes are counted, there are no vote changes. Choose wisely before posting!

6. The @Kingjohn_654 Rule: Only participate if you've heard these songs. You are welcome to look them up and listen before hand, but if there's evidence you haven't heard them before or you're just voting to help/hurt a song your votes will not count.


And the most important rule of them all : Havefun and stay respectful of each other and their opinions.

Time Consumer is such a cool and strange way to start the first real song on the album, with a minute bass and drum jam after already having an instrumental album opener before it.

For their debut, you weren't really sure what you were getting into haha.
