I mean you can't honestly think that I think a single from my all-time favorite band would be in my consideration for my favorite song

For me, but I haven't listened to their last few albums honestly. From what I've heard, How's It Gonna Be is absolutely one of their best. I can't see them topping it.

I'm almost inclined to not even participate in this bracket because I know something like Welcome Home or A Favor House Atlantic (aka good songs that are nowhere near their best but will get more support than they deserve because they were popular singles) is going to win and it's already pissing me off.

Just like with voting in elections, this is the mentality that lets those songs win

I get Favor House and usually stand by this notion, but Welcome Home is such an epic rocker with that insane opening, stings, choir vocals and that crazy long solo wrapping it all it. It truly is amazing. There's only a few songs I'd vote over it, and I doubt those will even get matched up.

 

The outro on WH extends way too long. I’m glad they started cutting it short live

Like I said, the song is great, there’s just so many other ones I prefer to it

 

I'm in for the albums I know well enough.

 

Welcome Home is a good song but it isn't even the best song on its own album, let alone their best song overall.
