Liked the mix. Really liked the KFC ads you threw in there.

Good list, pretty impossible to condense JEW. For a list like this you kind of HAVE to include Sweetness and The Middle. Personally, im not really big on either of those songs and rarely listen to them. If it was a playlist for me id probably swap them for Rockstar and Goodbye Sky Harbor, but if its a playlist for someone new to JEW id definitely keep them.

Really nice list. I suppose I just can't imagine a scenario where they don't play The Middle live

Now THIS is a great concept for a playlist.

I have been doing something similar in Spotify for a few years, but instead I call it the "Highlights" series.

So far, I have done the following bands:

    Arcade Fire
    Conor Oberst
    Death Cab for Cutie
    The Decembrists
    Modest Mouse
    The Shins
    The Tallest Man on Earth

That's awesome. Would love to see what you did for Death Cab and Modest Mouse. Link to the playlists?

Glad to hear I could help. I've been listening to their discography all week while making this and it's been great work music.

    Glad you asked:

Highlights - Death Cab for Cutie:

    Highlights - Modest Mouse:

Keep in mind, I did not consider a time limit, though I think its worth considering, because i like a challenge, haha.

I also kept things in chronological order which is fairly boring. Would be open to re-sequencing based on flow when I have more time.

Let me know what you think.

@Jason Tate @Craig Ismaili I have some suggestions for future playlist topics:

    - The Best Track One's
    - The Best Final Tracks
    - The songs that your favorite bands NEVER play live
    - The Best Breakout Singles (the track that really drew a large crowd to a given band for the first time)

I'm sure you have a long list of topics already, but thought some suggestions might help.

I'm not familiar with most of their later work, but the older songs are great selections. This would be a fantastic set list.

    I can feel the butterflies.

Well done on picking through their entire discography for this list! I think Cautioners doesn't get as much love as it deserves though. It's tough choosing a favorite but if i had to pick one, it'd be that. 23 would be next.

Goodbye Sky Harbor gotta be the last song.

    Dude, I still burn CD-Rs for my car's audio-system haha ;P

The list is amazing! Although I could probably choose another 20 songs that would hit me as hard, they're just that good. I guess it is a huge challenge to select them with some limits.

Very true. But I never really liked The Middle so I left it off... wishful thinking on my part for sure. :-)

This had never really been one of my favorite Jimmy Eat World songs, until it was used in the season 1 finale of Shameless. Something about that moment felt so cinematic and I’ve loved the song ever since.

I know exactly what you're saying ... I remember thinking that a song never matched a situation better than it did at that subway station - the connection the viewer felt was unreal

I'm curious, now with it being after their latest Integrity Blues release, which songs from the new album (if any) you would modify your current playlists to include. Also, I saw them recent live and the setlist was actually remarkably close to the OP' s once you remove Disintegration and Goodbye Sky Harbor. They did 22 tracks with a 3 track encore (Middle/Sure And Certain/Sweetness) and they did reserve 23 for the last part of their main set.

I have a constant 22 song JEW setlist I always have at the ready for whenever, and post Integrity Blues, this is what it looks like:

    Bleed American
    Big Casino
    Futures
    You Are Free
    Higher Devotion
    I Will Steal You Back
    Movielike
    Sure and Certain
    Chase This Light
    Firefight
    Lucky Denver Mint
    It Matters
    Pain
    My Best Theory
    A Praise Chorus
    You With Me
    Littlething
    Dizzy
    The End Is Beautiful
    Invented
    23
    Sweetness

Note: JEW is my favorite band, and 'Invented' is my favorite record of theirs (and top five of all time). I know that's sorta weird, but that changes my lists all the time. Also, I'm super aware that 'the Middle' has to be on every list, so it can be tacked on the end of 91 minutes of JEW isn't enough lol.
