Watching the 2 hour 20/20 on the 2016 double murder of former NFL player Antonio Armstrong and his wife in the Houston suburbs. Their then 16 year old son AJ is the main suspect, has had 2 murder trials already that both have ended in hung juries. It is about to go to trial for the third time next month. The defence is suggesting that the older other son is the actual killer. Very weird case.
when this detail came out I said said to friends that the FBI was probably losing their shit when he got pulled over - ESPECIALLY the second time in like two hours or whatever it was because certainly the Indiana state troopers didn’t know he was being tracked by the FBI for a mass murder and they could have potential thrown a curve ball into the case if he was arrested for a driving issue. Kind of like how undercover cops in the mafia or gangs or whatever aren’t known by all other cops and I like to imagine an FBI vehicle was following him as he drove to Pennsylvania and were punching dashboards and cursing out the cops who pulled them over, oblivious to who the driver turned out to be
Absolutely baffled by how many people commit a crime and it turns out they Google eerily specific topics either right before or after. It’s 2023, how do you not realize that info is going to be found?? ( I guess they all think they’ll never get caught but come on)
They are in their own world, I mean they’d have to be to commit such terrible acts. But yeah I’m like how “stupid” are you to search all that. Oh I’ll do it on my kids iPad. They won’t check that surely. I can say he did it if they did
the fact that he had the balls to plead not guilty blows my mind. like bro, you fucking killed your wife.
Teens Rescued, Abductor Killed After Massive Statewide Search After briefly mentioning it in the Politics thread, I was just thinking about this crazy thing that happened the summer between Freshman and Sophomore year of high school. This girl I had gone to school with my whole life was kidnapped, along with another girl that was also up there with a guy, from the local "lovers' lane". It was the first time the state used the Amber Alert system, and that absolutely saved their lives and helped find them.
https://the-girl-in-the-blue-mustang.simplecast.com/ New podcast series just started about an unsolved murder that happened in my home town. Very close to where the previous story I shared happened.
Instantly hooked on this, for obvious reason. Finish all three episodes that are out this morning and can't wait for more. This case loomed large over the community. Of course the current Mayor, who was an ambulance chaser turned businessman turned politician and all around scumbag, plays a role in this story.
Menendez brothers cite documentary as evidence it's time they were freed; petition filed Menendez Bros trying to get free after a former member of Menudo comes forward saying he was molested by their father. Also, apparently a letter to a cousin resurfaces corroborating their claims that they were sexually abused.
Lately I have become fascinated by that 2021 Chandler Halderson double murder case in Madison, Wisconsin. The one where the guy lied to everyone he knew about going to college, having a job, getting hired by SpaceX, when in reality he dropped out, was unemployed, and just played FPS games all day; when his lie was about to be exposed he murdered both of his parents. I felt so bad for his girlfriend having to get up on the stand and admit that her entire relationship was built on complete lies she believed.
Very surreal to find out they made a docuseries about the biggest scandal your hometown has ever had and seeing people I know very well getting interviewed to talk about it
Dateline and 20/20's season premieres about the same exact case (the 2020 killing of Jamie Faith in Dallas TX). How often does that happen?
I’m pretty sure they did the same case/same night after the Idaho murders but I don’t know how often it happens
