Losing Derrick and Rob in the same episode, we're really not left with anyone who is playing that great of a game, a lot of just... boring personalities that aren't interesting. Losing interest in the game aside from maybe Dylan, Brittany and then seeing how Carolyn and Danielle implode themselves
For Wes being the apparent legend that he is, I thought his round table defense was pretty funny... Others: "Wes, you come across as aggressive" Wes: "I'll try to be less aggressive. Oh and also if you vote for me I'm coming for every one of you." Bummed Rob is out. Not sure if I'll watch anymore honestly...
It's much better reality tv when the people have a history of back stabbing each other already. You're not starting over every time. Each new season of The Challenge, the rules are also different so they have to rethink how they play the game and who to form alliances with. It's my favorite reality show. Some players retire and go away, and there's always new faces being introduced. So it's not always the same people. Every season is different. People like CT and Wes are only in it so frequently because they're popular and they win a lot.
I like The Challenge but don’t really watch it regularly. My biggest complaint with it is that the challenges themselves are always so physical. It tends to lead to only one archetype of winner.
On one hand it's been a while since a physically dominant person/team has won due to size difference, in the other it's pretty much expected to train and get in shape between seasons to perform well. Something like BB or survivor anyone can donut.....the challenge USED to be like that too but it definitely changed. If someone comes in out of shape RIP, cuz social game can only carry you so far. Especially when the final is usually a two day trek that makes players hate life due to how challenging it is lol. All Stars has kinda pulled back on the physical aspect. It's much more laid back than the flagship.
I was initially kind of mad about Tom Sandoval being cast for this show but I take it back. He’s been an incredible punching bag all season long.
Tom has been the greatest surprise for me haha. He's just great Having seen the latest UK season, I knew if they had the singing challenge it wouldn't disappoint. And by God was it glorious hahahaha. That's also one thing I've noticed, that this is the first season that has distinct challenges between different countries versions. Before, it was every single challenge that the UK did, US would do, they'd just alter the order. Now there's been challenges in the US version that def weren't in the UK and that's neat.
I have no idea who Tom is (or any of them) but he’s absolutely my favourite. Both him and Alexander were so funny on the doll task.
This show is really the best PR rehab Tom could’ve possibly asked for. I’m also really enjoying Sam a lot, everything he does is so cute.
The edit for this episode felt really bad. Unless Danielle goes next week then it feels like there were some weird choices. Danielle’s fake shaking and crying is doing my head in. It’s not fun like Linda from UK s3, it’s just weird and cringe. I could also do with less ableist comments being thrown about. Finally, kind of sad that basically none of the personalities I grew to like are still in it. There’s basically two people I enjoy but that tends to happen in every season tbf. Hoping one of them can win it, and I think they will based on this episode.
I think the nature of the game is such that some of the most boring people often coast to the end unfortunately. There’s no incentive to murder or banish people like Ivar or Dolores.
Last night's episode thoughts (spoilers);: Sam getting murdered after the being the paint on the wall the entire season feels very appropriate. Still feel like we learned nothing about him other than being Britney Spear's ex. Ivar pegging the last two traitors being female at the start of the roundtable is surprisingly perceptive considering we've seen nothing from him as far as the edit goes. As sad as I am to see Carolyn gone, she did play into Danielle's strategy a depressing amount in the challenge based on the edit she got. It also doesn't help she got ran roughshod at the roundtable by Danielle. Though Danielle bringing Britney in to be her accomplice might be an even dumber choice because it is too damn obvious.
I wish the edit allowed for Gabby to show more personality. She is one of the funniest internet personalities around. Her Tiktok makes me cry from laughing more often than not.
So according to an interview that Britney did on Carolyn's podcast, she said when Danielle told her Carolyn was targeting her, she took it as “wink wink I know you know I’m a Traitor but so is Carolyn”.
