I kind of knew Dunkin and BR because I’ve seen some combination DD/BR shops before. But didn’t know about all the other ones. That’s interesting Burger King and Popeyes being owned by the same company is wild to me
Most DD stores I have ever been to serve Baskin Robbins There are also combo Cinnabon/Carvel stores now too.
Also that graphic made me realize how many chain restaurants I’ve never been to or even heard of before. Like wtf is Eddie V’s? Lol
Looks like an upscale seafood/steak chain. Similar to a Ruth's Chris (also owned by Darden) or a Morton's.
TIL: The Ataris released a limited edition 7” single of their song “Car Song” that was pressed on clear vinyl containing the ashes of frontman Kris Roe’s father. Because of this, it is illegal to purchase it in 8 different states. Only 300 copies exist
TIL: There is a time of year in Australia called “Spider Season.” It’s a period in late summer/early fall in which numerous spiders release silk thread to float through the air. The result is fields/areas looking like they’ve been snowed on. But it’s not snow. It’s web….
TIL the Safdie Brothers are first cousins with Dov Charney, the controversial founder of American Apparel.
TIL: Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age) actually auditioned to play guitar in Faith No More in the mid-90’s. They turned him down because they didn’t think he was a good fit. But everything worked out in the end I guess lol
Keeping on the Primus train I just recently learned that their guitarist played in what is considered the first death metal band.
That Alexandra Daddario has a brother who is also good looking which I guess yeah of course everyone in the family would be beautiful. Which then led to me googling and finding out their grandfather was a democratic politician in the 60s. He was less good looking though to be fair most of the pics of him out there are when he's older.
TIL the Chinese name for China is Zhongguo, which literally translates to "the central state", with central meaning main focal point. So to the Chinese the name of their country is just "the main country".
TIL Danny Boy, one of the frontmen of the 90's rap group House Of Pain is so obsessed with the novel/film The Outsiders that he bought the house in Tulsa Oklahoma that the primary setting of the film, restored it, and turned it into a museum dedicated to The Outsiders.
This is weird because I just watched The Outsiders for the first time all the way through last weekend, and my fiance and I are currently texting about how her great aunt allegedly championed the book hard and wrote Coppola about adapting it.
Development [edit] Francis Ford Coppola had not intended to make a film about teen angst until Jo Ellen Misakian, a school librarian from Lone Star Elementary School in Fresno, California, wrote to him on behalf of her seventh and eighth grade students about adapting The Outsiders.[4][5] "We are all so impressed with the book, The Outsiders by SE Hinton, that a petition has been circulated asking that it be made into a movie. We have chosen you to send it to."[6] Approximately 15 pages of children's signatures were attached to the letter written in different colors. Moved by the letter, Coppola read the book and was impressed by the relationships between the greaser kids. It brought back memories of when he had been a drama counselor working with children at a summer camp in his youth.[6] From Wikipedia. Jo Ellen is her aunt. Haha, this is crazy we've been together for 12 years and she's never mentioned this.
