TIL there is a type of banana named the Blue Java Banana. It is cold-tolerant and apparently has a consistency similar to ice cream and has a flavor reminiscent to vanilla custard. It’s a native of Southeast Asia, but they are available in Hawaii where they are nicknamed the “ice cream banana”
TIL about the Maltese language from the tiny Mediterranean island nation of Malta. It's an offshoot of the now extinct Sicilian Arabic dialect from when Arabs dominated that region in the middle ages. it is the only middle eastern derived national language in the European Union. It sounds just like someone trying to speak Arabic with a thick Italian accent.
TIL about the concept of Urban Forest Inequity. How in many urban areas poorer neighborhoods statistically have far less trees and canopy cover than richer neighborhoods. This contributes to less shade, higher temperatures, and psychological impacts.

But the lease of the old one was due to expire shortly before the opening of the new one, so they opted to renew the lease of the old one in order to keep business open despite the new one and now… this (Photo obtained from Reddit)

TIL what Applebee's markets as "Riblets" technically are not Riblets. Riblets are a real pork cut, but that isn't what Applebee's sells. What Applebee's serves as Riblets are actually a cut called Button Ribs which is found just past the ribs near the backbone, just underneath the tenderloin. This cut of meat has no bones but instead has "buttons" of cartilaginous material with meat attached.
