TIL there is an internet theory that Vanessa Carlton wrote her hit song "A Thousand Miles" about IASIP's Glenn Howerton.

Carlton said she wrote the song about a Juilliard student in New York in the 90's she had a crush on who is "now a famous actor". I guess Glenn went to Juilliard at the time and people put 2 and 2 together.

 

I find this pretty amusing

TIL Cougars/Pumas/Mountain Lions and Cheetahs are the largest members of the Felinae subfamily of felines that includes domestic cats. They're actually not technically "big cats" at all. Cougars and Cheetahs are more like very big regular cats.

Tigers, Lions, Jaguars, Leopards, etc belong to the seperate Patherinae subfamily. The biggest difference is Felinaes purr, meow, hiss, and screech, and are physically unable to roar like Patherinaes.

TIL: In McDonalds lore, Grimmace has an Irish uncle named Uncle O’Grimmacey who looks just like Grimmace, but green. He is an old character that was used to promote the Shamrock shake and this year, they’ve brought him out of retirement



Today I also learned that Grimmace has a brother that is the king of all Grimmaces

 

TIL: There is a “cheat code” in Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (in Disneyland and WDW). If done correctly, you enter “wookie mode” where Chewbacca virtually completes the ride with you

TIL: A Tribe Called Quest doesn’t get any royalties from Can I Kick It. They all go to Lou Reed. He apparently only allowed them to sample his song for it on the condition that he gets 100% of the earnings.

So despite it being their most well-known song, they don’t see a dime from it.

 

TIL: Drumsticks aren’t considered ice cream due to the amount of vegetable oils used with the cream. Thus making them a “frozen dairy dessert”
