That’s the thing, objectively they have a great site! They break a lot of news! But they are clearly all kids who were bullied and grew up and are still convinced every single thing that happens is a slight to them and they get so butt hurt about ANY criticism.
Read this page backwards and somehow knew ya'll were talking about WDWNT before even seeing the tweet.
An absolute royal fuck you to the company for announcing this shit hours before it goes into effect. We leave in a few days and booked believing the current guidelines would be in place. I know we will be alright we are full vaccinated, but this isn’t the vacation I signed up for. I can’t imagine being on property right now. And on top of all of that, the cast members I am fucking furious for. This is going to be a logistical nightmare for them, and they are going to have to go in there with no help from the company and navigate it on the spot, and they will get zero credit for pulling it off and undoubtedly a ton of shit from absolute morons. Even further proof of the complete lack of any actual logical thinking from those running the company outside of whatever they think will boost stocks at the beginning and end of each quarter.
To be fair, I feel like we're going to have a few weeks of this everywhere. Maryland just removed the mask mandate, but Baltimore City came out a few hours later and said they aren't (low vaccination rate). Not only that, gov. said companies can still require masks if they like. Going to be a shit show.
Ultimately I am much more upset for the cast who got what like 8ish hours notice of this, not from their leaders, not from the hub, but from social media. I don’t necessarily disagree completely with the rule change completely, but I have major issues with how it was implemented and announced. The cast and frankly the guests deserved to have prior notice to this change.
A big problem is that Disney has now created serious grey area. Before, it was so simple for CMs to just say “please put your mask on” and there could be no argument because the rules were clear and enforceable: masks off only when eating and drinking while stationary. Now they want to say “masks on indoors and in queues” but if a queue is outdoors...masks off is ok? Already seeing on Twitter that this exact question is being tackled Disney has now positioned their CMs in such a way that guests can now reasonably argue with them about when is and when isn’t an appropriate time to wear a mask, as well as possibly bend guest relations to their will when guests inevitably complain about being hounded by CMs about responsible mask wearing. Because you now have serious grey area and possible cause for complaint. Obviously Disney wasn’t going to enforce masks forever, but this doesn’t seem like the right time and definitely should’ve come with significantly more notice. Disney brass better have their workers’ backs because people are going to be on their bullshit in a serious way.
Once Universal announced they were not going to require masks outside, it was kind of a forgone conclusion Disney World would follow suit, but totally agree that they both should have waited a few days to implement in order to help the Cast Members prepare.
My curiosity to the dividers being removed is seeing how, if at all, they're fixing the damage to the queue/theming that was done to install all the stuff.
I remember when I went to Grad Nite at DL in 2001, the park was TRASHED. Tagging and broken walls in the Space Mountain queue throughout. I couldn't believe it. Someone I know went the next day and it had all been repaired. They had no clue what I was talking about. I was so impressed. I don't think they'll have an issue repairing things in ways we can't even fathom. I would love to see some doc about this. Someone at the parks blog should get on this video content. haha
I've seen some rumors that a Space 220 opening announcement could be coming soon. I hope so, it's been delayed for over a year now edit: BREAKING: Space 220 Restaurant at EPCOT Posts Seven Job Openings, May Finally Open Soon - WDW News Today
Haven't they posted job opening for the better part of the last year though? I know for sure an executive chef post was made awhile back.
