haha that is true, there were always log jams (pun absolutely intended). i think ive maybe gotten through it uninterrupted twice in my life? lol
Yes but despite our happy memories with it it’s literally mocking slave songs so it’s really the right thing to do to remove and stop celebrating it also I too have gotten stuck on it and didn’t realize it was such a regular occurrence lmao
I definitely agree, it’s tough trying to disassociate the embedded racism in the ride/movie with childhood memories. Obviously as a kid I never put it together. It’s time for it to go though. I’m excited to see what lengths they go to for a refurbishment with Princess and the Frog. Hopefully they don’t mail it in.
Also unrelated to Splash Mountain, but the fact that they haven’t reimagined The Three Caballeros into Coco yet is wild to me. I do petition to be allowed to bring Margs on the boat though.
There’s so many easy re-themes. Since Galaxy’s Edge opened and is on the Complete opposite side of the park as Star Tours in Disneyland, I always thought the easy solution would be a Wall-E rebrand
As much as i love the ride i could easily see Star Tours getting cut from both DL and HS in favor of something else now that galaxies edge is in full swing. You just dont need (3) SW rides in one park lol
with the exception of Toy Story Land, being that all 3 rides are in the land, its not like there are 2 rides and then a half mile away another TS ride. If galaxies edge was built around the existing Star Tours i think it would stay.
I’ve been removed from Splash Mountain 3 times, once from Haunted Mansion, once from Pirates, and once from The Great Movie Ride. I remember my college spring break we were on a cruise that stopped in Florida and our day trip was Hollywood Studios. We’re in the last row of the car and my buddy leaned back and his Ray Ban’s fell off his head onto the ground directly in the middle of the floor. When we got off the ride we told a cast member and they went to get them and brought them back absolutely smashed to shit. The wheel on the great movie ride car was dead center of the ride vehicle so it just decimated them. They did give him a voucher for new sunglasses though from the gift shop valued at 200 dollars though so it worked itself out haha
only ride i've ever been evacuated from was Star Tours. It just stopped moving and we were all tilted to the side so it was very uncomfortable for a few minutes lol, they were able to reset the vehicle and get us off, and give each 2 fastpasses to each person in each party that could be used anywhere at any time for any ride. was pretty good hah
I was already planning to not go back for 2-3 years to stay away from the massive anniversary crowds and new ride openings but i'll probably be right in them now lol
I really miss the old Soarin' Over California - got to ride it in DCA and was very happy haha Soarin' Around the World is good, and those new scents are top notch, but the original is by far superior.
I haven’t been on any of the Galaxy’s Edge rides, but i’m confident to say FoP is the best ride on Disney property.
Never tried the original Soarin but the new one is a top tier ride. I’ve been meaning to try it high sometime lol
My friends who've ridden ROTR have talked in the same rabid way I do about FoP so it's definitely at least close lol
Yeah Smugglers Run was fun but FoP is, currently, the best theme park ride i've ever been on. Cannot wait to ride RotR sometime next year.
Test Track is just so outdated now and I much prefer the original version, which seemed timeless. Soarin didn't need a new film I am optimistic that Frog Mountain will be beautiful
