Is there a story of what happened? Looks like the kid got scared and tried to hop off which is obviously a dumb ass idea. Not sure a kid should be banned for that lol
I'm assuming that's a parent in front - control your kid. I'm a dad of a 10 year old, I'm allowed to say that. Instead, Disney is likely going to spend a fortune, and begin adding seatbelts or something
It used to not even have the lap bars. Sooner or later they will even have them on completely calm boat rides.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney looked into replacing the logs on the ride with the ones they have on Tiana in WDW. I always preferred those. And if kids jumping out of the ride is gonna become an issue…
One of the most common examples I see of people ignoring safety rules is getting off of the bus-style rides at Universal (King Kong and Fast and the Furious). They tell everyone to wait until the door is all the way up and are told to get out but people just start getting up anyway. The door folds so it does this swing backwards that could be a big risk if it failed.
Hot take: I prefer the Disney World Pirates because even though it’s shorter, the story element of the drop being the boat going back in time works so much better for me. There’s some cool scenes missing from the front half (now more muddled by the alive pirate), but it’s overall cleaner and clearer in WDW.
Yea, nope. Restore what’s there so it works for long term. Did 6 park days in Disney World. Muppets Coaster is the first time I felt they really plused an old ride. Studios has a nice set of attractions now I feel and will be even better when the new animation area and Monsters opens. Animal Kingdom is in dire straits and needs the new land badly (and then some). Epcot lite is nice bc there aren’t people all over. Took my kids on test track for the first time and didn’t tell them it went as fast as it does. That was fun to watch. Magic Kingdom is gonna be a real beast of a park once these two new areas open. Big Thunder rode great. It was honestly pretty empty. Summer seems to really be the dead time now.

You are seeing that in some of the pricing. The summer ticket for Florida residents for Disney, Epic Universe tickets for annual passholders are dropping under 100 dollars. It is hard for a family of four from South Dakota to put down thousands of dollars when you don't know when Trump is going to start a new war or you are going to have to get a loan to buy a new phone to pay for the RAM. As a local it is great. We spent two and a half hours at Animal Kingdom and got on every ride. Granted there are only five rides, but it is still pleasant to start the line indoors.
I'd argue it's more of a summer thing, as a large portion of the country doesn't want to go to FL in the summer and deal with the heat. Parents are more willing to let their kids miss school to go on vacation now too and will plan trips during "cooler" months instead. The winter deals Disney just released aren't real great, and the prices for what's available are high
I’d preferably not go to Florida in the summer lol. My wife and I agreed that when we go back to WDW, it’ll be in the winter. The weather was perfect when we went on our honeymoon in 2024
I mean, summer in OC can really suck too (it really depends on the year), but at least it lacks the Florida humidity
Went to Kings Dominion last week - every ride was a walk-on (except Pantherian, which was closed all day). It was really hot, too, so I don't know if that had anything to do with the crowds. Doubt it's going to be that way when we're at Kings Island next week, though, even with the 110 degree heat index. Just changed our mid-August trip from Disney to Universal, other than the Halloween party at the former. I'm going to wait until Disney finishes and opens their new lands/rides before we go back there. Unfortunately, it's the only time of year when we can go since I'm a teacher and have limited days I can take.
