I was supposed to go to Disney World in March, but it got cancelled. I think we're planning to go in December now. I haven't been to Disney World since I was in 4th grade and I haven't been to any other theme parks since 2006 so I'm really hoping this pans out.
I've been home from a month now, so it's a good time to get around to talking about it. I was blown away by Epcot, which I loooooove anyway - because of Flower and Garden Festival. The flowers and the topiaries were just gorgeous, and I tried a few plates of food and snacks from the kiosks. It really made me love a park I already love even more.
Flower and Garden is seriously the best. Also - I am just going to start posting pictures from Disney/Universal in here because thats fun I have no idea who these people are that were seated in front of me but this is great: and Canada is an underrated place to chill out and drink beer (La Fin du Monde is the best):
Pictures are always fun! Especially ride pictures. My boyfriend is in the front and his face cracks me up every time.
Not to rain on your parade but December is the absolute worst time to go to Disney World imo. I used to work in Magic Kingdom and we would reach park capacity (80,000-100,000 people) almost every day in December
I went the first week of December in 2014 and felt it was pretty quiet. Also think the week before Thanksgiving is a good time to go.
I've gone to Six Flags Great Adventure 3 times on the 4th of July and every time has been a blast. Yes there are crowds, but nothing like weekends.
@Matt That Space picture is awesome. @quietwords I had the same experience the first week of December 2015. Pretty quiet. Crowds were in the 3-6 range every day. I support the posting photos idea. Here's a few from my trip last month. Not sure why I look so miserable on Mine Train...? And we met Kylo Ren, who stomped around inspecting us, and told us he'd come find us when the time was right. As soon as he stopped his monologue, he quickly paused for this photo, then went back to stomping around, which is why we're both look like ????. The best part was actually when we were waiting in line, and some kid came out and yelled to his dad "KYLO REN IS MEEEEEEAN!!!" Yeah, that's kind of his thing...
I don't have the digital copies on hand, but here's pictures of the order screen from Space and Splash Mountains last summer Me and my daughter, parents, and sister
Loving all the pictures! Last month we got to meet Joy & Sadness on one of their first days at Epcot. It was awesome
The older I get, the more I truly love Epcot. It was one of my favorite days of our trip in 2014. My partner had no interest and booked a massage, so I went solo. Thought I'd hate that, but I loved it. I went on Test Track a solid 4-5 times in about 20 minutes. Enjoyed Soarin' and chatting with the people riding with me. Then made my way to World Showcase, enjoying all of the countries and beverages. It started downpouring when I hit Germany, but I luckily made it to a station for a mulled wine and got to watch a guy make glass-blown Christmas ornaments. It was great.
I've never really spent time in the parks alone until this trip, but wandering Epcot by myself at night getting super drunk and super full is an amazing feeling. I ended up stumbling onto Spaceship Earth and then the monorail to Magic Kingdom, where I got to drunk-ride Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain
Soarin is back open today as the original before the new version opens up in a few weeks. I wish I could be there to ride it again
We have new rides opening for Riddler, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman in the next month. I don't think any of them are going to be a big deal but I'm excited to check them out
Still wanna check out the VR ride at Six Flags Over Texas. I'm not really a roller coaster guy, but I'm super interested in the VR aspect of it. This may be the first season I go in about decade, just for that ride.
