I did a big, long day at the park today with my dad (it was his first time going in 20 years). I’m exhausted, but it was a good time. A couple highlights: -Indiana Jones broke down when we were on it (first ride of the day too). We were only stuck for maybe 15-20 minutes, but the ride got up and running afterwards and they let us go through it a second time because of it -It was my dad’s first time seeing Galaxy’s Edge. Both rides blew his mind -Finally did Tiana for my first time. That shit rocked. Love the theming and everything they did with that ride. It also feels way more brutal in terms of wetness. We all got soaked -The pineapple upside down cake Dole Whip and the strawberry matcha Dole Whip were both delicious and refreshing on a hot day
doing round 2 at Epic today and rope dropped Battle at the Ministry and waited just under an hour i’ve heard of some nightmarish wait times for people that do it first thing but we were in line for the park at 8:30, got in line for Ministry at 9:00 and were seated (front and center) before 10:00 probably used up all our good karma
so the only thing left to do in Epic for me is Hiccup’s coaster got in line for it in the early evening and there were so many delays and when the ride wasn’t delayed, the line was moving the slowest i’ve ever experienced a line move before so we tapped out after 80 minutes of waiting and never getting to what some people in line deemed the official halfway point we will rope drop that next time
Did 4 days in Disney. One day at each park with Lightning Lane. Hit everything we wanted to. My two daughters piloted the Falcon. My oldest adopted a Loth Cat. I raised them well. Rode Tianna’s for the first time. There is just no build up to the drop. Also lots of dead space where I felt there were some animatronics previously but I could be remembering that wrong. Surprise hit of the trip was the Feathered Friends in Flight show at AK. My kids were just glued to it and the hosts were pretty witty. Best meal was Hollywood Brown Derby. We did the Fantasmic package and got like fifth row dead center. My oldest knew nothing about Fantasmic and she is at the age where she is starting to ask questions about it characters. During this show she just was all in and literally in disbelief. Core memory. Also before the show they play that new punk Disney covers album which was fun. I don’t take for granted that we can do Disney in a way most can’t afford. Staying on site, lightning lane, sit down dining, etc.
Honestly I can’t help but be a little jealous of the bands that Epcot gets to play their festivals. Meanwhile, the biggest band that DCA books is Yhatley Crew…
