My only problem with that episode: he does so much research for Defunctland episodes and goes super in depth, yet in the podcast it seems like he wasn’t really interested in Tarzan Rocks and his only insight was that the costumes looked funny
I have never once noticed Ken Marino is the sound engineer in the Aerosmith ride at Disney until today.
Steven Tyler: “Give me some of that” *licks thumb* *touches licked thumb to managers thumb* Steven Tyler: “psssshhhh”
They had a DVC event last night and they didn’t force us to watch that video and it made me so happy.
People are NOT happy with the recent Epcot rumors Permanent Future World Festival Center and Beer Garden, New Starbucks, Water Maze, and More Coming to Epcot for "Project Gamma" - WDW News Today If true, removing the fountain of nations for a beer garden is fucked lol
Epcot is a park suffering a crippling identity crisis. I know a lot of disney purists on the interspace are super super anti any drinking in disney world but epcot should lean into world showcase being primarily where people go to booze it up. Its not a BAD thing, and sure there will always be obnoxious folks that over do it, but, idk just accept it guys WS only thrives bc we wanna drink. I dont necessarily support ditching the fountain, but a beer garden where maybe drinks and foods from all across the world showcase countries could be cool.
I also really would love to see more countries represented. I know they have space for 3-4 more pavilions.
Brazil's been a rumored one for years. India has popped up recently though... RUMOR: India Pavilion Coming to Epcot’s World Showcase with Massive Jungle Book Ride - WDW News Today
Folks are also extremely up in arms about the possibility of the recently “closed for renovations” Mizners Lounge in GF Resort being converted completely into a beauty in the beast themed bar/lounge, being that GF is not a character themed hotel and arguably their “fanciest” hotel, people arent thrilled that disney seems to be just wanting to throw IP anywhere they possibly can, which i can agree with. Seems dumb. I hope its only rumor.
Have heart about brazil and india as well which would be awesome, would also take Greece, Egypt, and Spain
I haven't been to Mizner's but I don't understand why they would need to change the theme to Beauty and the Beast. It's not like they need to attract kids to the bar?
Yeah it really makes no functional sense, the clientele of the GF definitely don't want to sip expensive cocktails in a bar themed to a cartoon/kids movie.
I guess if they make the references subtle and keep it classy, it could be a nice place for a drink. Thematically it makes no sense to put it in a resort themed to Victorian era Florida.
I was talking to an employee at Epcot a few weeks ago and she was saying that Epcot basically is an adult park. They recently built playgrounds so kids can take time to play in between their parents drinking lol. It's meant to be more of a lets decompress and relax kinda park - which also explains why there's not many rides, let alone Disney themed.
The recent additions to world showcase in the last 5-6 years that I have seen "Kidcot", essentially every country now has something for kids to do while their parents drink lol I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with Disney/Epcot leaning into that part of Epcot being targeted more towards an adult crowd that wants to enjoy an afternoon of drinking, but you'll always see people against it.
