I agree that it feels like a relic they should move on from sooner rather than later But I also just don’t really care about marvel so my opinion probably doesn’t matter lol
Toon Lagoon also badly need to be replaced. Dudley Do Right might be the single most irrelevant character that has their own ride in all of greater Orlando. i think the last time that character was relevant was when he had his own Brendan Fraser movie soon after the ride opened. It is a fun ride, but come on re-theme it.
Idk I guess I get the general feeling of “they could do more” and “universal is putting Disney to shame” but like, I live in middle America and have gotten to go to DisneyWorld once. The stuff still sorta feels special to me.
People that live near the parks or are regulars will have the most insane opinions and comments about stuff that the vast majority of people from 1000 miles away who maybe go once or twice in their lives won't ever notice.
i like that marvel superhero island is so kitschy with its very specifically 90s marvel era artwork everywhere that being said yeah on the whole, universal is a step down in the general atmospheric quality that disney typically nails but the modern lands in universal really are just a great sign of what’s to come
I really do hope they reinvest all that EU money they're going to make back into the FL park, specifically IoA.
In terms of the immersive character stuff, this sort of feels like it is Universal's answer to what Disney was trying to do with Star Wars .
One thing from EU that is missing so far is a nightime spectacular and/or parade . I wonder if they're waiting until all the lands details are announced for that.
saw a little bit of the hogwarts castle show the other day as we got off the train in ioa but didn’t dare get too close because the crowd looked nuts
There looks to be fountain shows in front of Helios Grand. Based on layout I don’t think there will be a parade or any other type of evening shows.
I have seen a significant amount of theatre nerds so excited by the confirmation that the Phantom of the Opera will be a part of that Monsters ride lol I heard someone say in the ride there will be an organ that shoots fire while Andrew Lloyd Webber's Overture plays.
I am confused by that fountain because some concept art it looks like a show fountain, other art has it as large wet play area for kids. Maybe it's both? I dunno.
