PA, in my opinion, has the best lineup of seasonal traditional amusement parks. Between Kennywood, Dorney, Hersheypark, Knoebels, and Waldameer the state has a great collection of parks to visit, all fairly close as well.
Dorney is the park closest to me and I can’t believe they are actually getting a new coaster this year. I’ll be interested to see how that impacts attendance bc usually the non-water rides are pretty empty outside of the Halloween season. Hoping to hit Kennywood this summer. There’s a small park Idlewild as well that is a sister park to Kennywood. PA absolutely has the best small park scene.
Disney apparently bought stake in Epic Games. So far they’ve only announced collaborations game-wise, but his damn it I want them to build a Fortnite area in one of the parks lol
A Fortnite ride could be cool but there’s already a couple of shooter rides at Disney. I could get behind a complete overhaul of Buzz with a Fortnite theme though. That ride system and the theming looks very Six Flags. Not sure how to tie this into Tomorrowland though. Also, speaking of Epic Universe did anyone else hear the rumors about the Back To The Future tie-in to Starfall Racers? Supposedly the trains will have flux capacitors on on the back of them that light up.
Oh fuck that would rule. I do enjoy Astro Blasters, but the last couple times I’ve been on it, it’s very clear that it’s in dire need of updating. Even having the photo sent to your email is old school and the picture quality is super low lol.
Coolest thing I read about that ride is there's no lights shining on the coaster so the trains (with the light package) look like comets as they're going through the track.
My God, that photo quality... no chance they've updated the camera since it opened. Has to be some Rebel model or something.
My wife and I went on it last week during Sweethearts Night (it was only like a 5 minutes wait) and the photo is literally laughable. The ride opened in 2005 and the photo looks like it was taken in 2005. I wanted to hit up WDW’s version of Astro Blasters (I know it’s a different name but don’t recall what it’s called) when I went last month but didn’t get the chance. Is it pretty much the same way?
Anyways, I'll be in VA on and off starting late March-early Sept. Can't wait to get back to BGW (and buying an AP) and finally getting to KD.
Any coaster you have yet to ride at a park you've been to multiple times? I've gone to Hershey three times, but never gotten on Laff Trakk.
